“Fuck!” Spencer quickly grabbed her hand, pulling Gemma with him. They heard the sirens closing in, saw their friends running towards the gate. They were about to follow, but saw a guard following cloesly behind them, so Spencer turned around, trying to find another way out.

“Where’s my brother?” Gemma whisper-yelled in worry as both teenagers ran for their lives.

“Don’t know. Don’t care.”
Despite the worry she managed to roll her eyes. Typical Spencer.

The boy quickly found another, higher gate and he stopped in his tracks, looking up at the gate and then at the girl in front of him. “You ready?”

Gemma swallowed as she examined the huge gates, but nodded her head nonetheless. They didn’t have any other choice.
“As ready as I’ll ever be to climb a fucking fence in the middle of the night while completely drunk.”

Spencer shook his head amused as he took a step forward, folding his hands in front of the girl. She put her foot into his palms, carefully grabbing a hold of his strong shoulder -and oh man, they definitely had gotten bigger- and meeting his gaze.
He waited for her to nod and, when she did, pushed her over the gates.

Gemma held onto the poles as her dizzy mind tried to think about what to do now. She looked down and, well that was quite the mistake because she remembered one little thing that could harden this mission.
She was afraid of heights.
Great.

She shook her head, lips trembling and head buried into her arm as her knuckles turned white around the poles.

“You have to let go.” Spencer whisper-shouted, who seemed to be back on the ground again, on the right side of the fence.

“No, I- I cant.”
Her breath hitched in her throat as tears started forming in her eyes.
She was mad at herself.
Why was she such a cry baby?
Why couldn’t she just be normal and jump?

“Hey, listen to me, alirght? Listen to me. Just let go. You just have to let go and I’ll catch you.”

It wasn’t that high. It wasn’t like she was hanging in the air on a plane, thousands of feet away from earth.
She wanted to, she really did, but she couldn’t. Her mind went blank, her hands not letting go from the poles of the gate.
“I can’t- I can’t do it. I can’t, Spence!”
She heard a faint shout and didn’t even dare to look, knowing it was the police who were looking for them.
“Leave before they find us.”

“I won’t leave yu behind, Gem. Do you trust me?”

Her mind didn’t work. Her body seemed to heaten up and even though she felt hot, a cold shiver ran down her spine. “What?”

“Do you trust me, Gem?”

“Yes.” The shaky girl answered without hesitation.

“Then let go.”
