“Why are we even here? Can’t we just go? Please, Nyx.”
Gemma ran a hand through her hair as her twin brother pulled her with him into the crowd of people in Dusty’s house.

“I will watch them fail. And I will be enjoying it. Call me an ass, I know that I am, but it will be a pleasure.”

“You know, you really are as dramatic as dad. Don’t be so petty, It’s just a band.”

“No.” He turned around and held his hand up as he pulled her closer to him, shielding her from the crowd of teenagers roaming around.
“It’s not just a band. How can you be so calm about this? You’ve loved this band as much as I do, if not even more. How are you not petty and dramatic when all I can think about is that they’ve replaced us.
With fucking Dusty!
And I really wanna see them fail because then I’ll know that we were good. And we would help them get a great band back together. Without Dusty.”

Gemma put her hands on his shoulders and looked him in his dark eyes, her gaze cageing him. “I get it. I really do. But are you sure this is all about the band and not about Dusty eating your last cookie?”

His eyebrows furrowed as he leaned in closer. “What?”

She shook her head and shrugged, smiling at her twin brother. “Never mind. Let’s go and watch some band fail and enjoy it.”

“Wooohoooo, that’s what I’m talking about. Yeah!”
As the twins made their way through the house, both of them grabbed a can of beer and made small talk with some of their classmates.

It wasn’t long until somebody tapped on Gemma’s shoulder, making her turn around and smile up at the new boy.
“How come you always find me?”

Malakai lowered his head and chuckled, clearing his throat. “Maybe your presence is just very enticing.”

Onyx’s gaze shot towards the boy and he glared at him, folding his arms in front of his chest and tilting his head.
“Who are you again?”

Gemma rolled her eyes before she grabbed the boys’ hand and pulled him away from her twin. “Let’s go get some drinks.”

The pair made their way through the crowded house, Gemma smiling at Douglas as they passed him before settling in the kitchen.
“What do you want?”
The girl turned around and met his gaze before leaning against the kitchen counter.

“I’m not really thirsty.”

She nodded slowly as he took a step forward, a small smile on his face. “You look beautiful by the way. I love the fit.”
