I've been fascinated by the idea of love.

Why do people get into those romantic relationships which I can't understand at all?

Sit me down for a romance movie and I'll be criticizing it all, especially the scenes where they would be looking at each other all weird for no reason. Why do they even kiss?

It's so...disgusting.

But I'm not against love. I'm just against the idea that most people today have around love. I believe love to be sacred and beautiful. I believe Love to be a Person actually. So my thesis for senior year ends up being about love. I'll be interviewing all kinds of people, particularly couples and asking their opinions on "What is Love?"

Let's go.

"Sir, what is love?"

"Uh, love is love. You know, you love someone and you take care of them." Said the middle-aged man.

"Yes. And you encourage each other and be kind." Said the middle-aged woman at his side.

They were holding hands and proceeded to kiss in front of me. I tried not to let my disgust show on my face as I thanked them for their time.

Seeing another couple, I carefully approached them with the notebook I had in hand.

"Excuse me?"

"Are you talking to us?" The young man asked. He looked to be in his teens with another teenage guy close to him.

"Yes, sir. I walk around asking questions for a thesis I have. And if you're both interested, I would like to have your opinions."

"Of course. Let's do it, Ken." Said the other shorter guy.

"What is love?"

"What is love? Love is appreciating beauty." The Ken guy held his boyfriend's hand and gave him a loving look.

I tried not to gag.

"Yes, love is everything. It's us and how we treat each other." The shorter guy raised himself on his tiptoes to kiss Ken on the cheek.

I almost wanted to turn around and run, but I didn't want to be rude. I simply thanked them and left.

I've had enough of watching people kissing, so I returned to my dorm room. I didn't think it was going to be so hard writing about love and making interviews with people.

As you can tell, I'm not the romantic type. At the tender age of 21, I've yet to experience this love that everyone seems to talk about. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate love. I have a personal disconnect with it. At least the romantic kind.
