Alec was completely in shock for only a couple of moments before his expression turned to anger. "You're not doing it."

"Oh yes I am." I said, smirking.

"No, you're not." He grabbed my arms and yanked me close to him.

Startled by his reaction, I froze in my place.

"Let me go." I demanded through gritted teeth.

"You're not leaving until it's clear that you're not going to be able to do this."

Alec looked me in the eye and finally, at such a close distance, I realized what color his eyes really were.

"Your eyes... they're grey." I said softly in realization.

He scoffed and spit to the side. "As if I didn't already know that." I gulped as I saw the look of fire in his eyes and tried to step back but he remained gripping my arms. "Do you want to get killed?" He hissed.

"I'd rather die doing what I love than live my life wishing I had." I spit.

I tried pulling my arms away from him but he only tightened his grip. "You'll be ridiculed by the media."

"That's something I'm willing to face. Now get your disgusting hands off of me." I snapped.

"You're going to regret it when you're lying in a hospital bed fighting for your life."

"You're going to regret it if you don't let go." I hissed, twisting my nails to press into his neck.

He jerked me backwards, causing me to stumble but he maintained his tight grip. "GET OFF OF ME!" I yelled.

"You don't know what you're getting into." Suddenly, he released his grip. I instantly backed away from him, rubbing my arm.

"How dare you put your hands on me!"

"Well, you better get used to it because what I just did was nothing compared to what those guys are going to do to you on the field."

"Screw you!"

"Wouldn't make a difference as you're already screwed."

I suddenly thought of an idea. Out of nowhere, I quickly ran to him and used all my force to push him to the ground. He tumbled to the ground and nearly flew back, but he rolled and shot back up. His face was twisted in anger but he masked it with unamusement.

"I thought we had already clarified back when we met that I was pretty strong."

Alec shook his head. "You're going to be rejected so badly, princess."

"Stop calling me that and just watch me. You won't even believe what you see, just like you didn't right now."

"You're out of your mind." He threw his arms up in exasperation and placed them on his head, turning around.

"I might be. But this sport did more for me than you'll know and I want to be able to do what pretty much-" Instantly, I shut up. If I had continued, I would've said entirely too much.

"Pretty much..?" He beckoned for me to finish, not turning around.

"Saved my life." I finished in my head. I shied away and looked off into the distance. "It doesn't matter." I said to him. "Especially not to you."

He retracted his arms and stuffed his hands in his sweatpants pockets, returning to the previous argument. "Coach will never let you on the team." He sneered.
