"Axel, don't push the cart," I said as my son was playful in a supermarket.
We stopped by to grab some groceries in the market.

"What are they doing mommy, why are they kissing each other?" Inosenting tanong ng aking anak.

Lumuhod ako at ginulo ang kanyang buhok. "Sometimes people who love each other show their love by kissing." Mahinahong sambit ko habang naka ngiti.

"But they're both girls," dagdag pa nito.

"My teacher said that the girls are only for boys." dagdag na sambit nito na siyang ikinakunot ng aking noo habang binawi ito ng ngiti sa aking labi

"Honey, no matter what your gender is you can love whoever you like, it's about love and kindness" mahabang lintaya ko na baka hindi nito maiintindihan dahil alam kong masyadong malalim ang tanong nito at kumplikado.

"Does it mean I can kiss whoever I like?"

"No honey, you can't kiss someone without their permission," I said, gently pricking his nose and smiling while explaining.

"Then why did Daddy kiss you without asking for permission?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowed in curiosity. I laughed at his innocent question and ruffled his hair.

"Well, honey," I said, looking into his eyes, "Daddy and I are married it's normal thing we do as a married couple. We love each other very much, and it's okay for us to kiss." I smiled warmly, hoping he understood.

"Then I will get married so I can kiss," my son said, his eyes wide with determination. I was ready to burst into laughter any minute from now. His logic was so pure and straightforward that it was impossible not to find it amusing.

I chuckled softly, trying to keep a straight face. "Well, sweetie, that's one way to look at it," I said, ruffling his hair again. "But getting married isn't just about kissing. It's about love, trust, and understanding each other deeply."

He looked puzzled, his little brow furrowing as he processed my words. "But why do you and Daddy kiss if you're already married?" he asked, his curiosity sparking more questions.

"That's a great question," I replied, sitting cross-legged in front of him. "When people get married, they make a promise to love and take care of each other. Kissing is just one way to show that love and affection. But it's important to remember that every kiss, hug, or touch should always be something both people are comfortable with. It's about making each other feel good and respected."

He nodded slowly, his small face still serious. "So, I can't just kiss anyone I want?" he asked, looking a bit disappointed.

"Exactly," I said gently. "You should always ask first and make sure the other person wants to kiss too. It’s like when you want to share a toy or a snack, you always ask first to make sure the other person is okay with it. It's all about being kind and respectful."
