Noel and I had plenty of mail waiting for us when we returned home. We worked together to sort through it as we stood beside each other at the kitchen counter.

"Titanic's closin' down." He announced reading from some sort of letter.

"Food sucked anyway." I remarked. "But everybody still liked hangin' out there for some reason."

It was one of the most popular celebrity spots in London next to The Met Bar, Brown's, and The Atlantic. Everybody who was anybody wanted an in and fuck knows I'd gotten lots of chances to while holding Noel's hand.

"They're havin' an event for their last night bein' open and they invited us." He showed me the invitation. "We could go...if yer wanted to."

"Can't." I shook my head. "That's the same night as the Diamond Delights Sale."

He raised his eyebrows curiously. "Sheep auction?"

"Yep." I nodded. "With a charity auction the night before. I already bought the tickets."

"You what?"

"You heard! You like throwin' money at charities. Plus, they got a pretty Northern menu for the dinner."

"Northern menu?" He echoed.

"Pie, chips, peas, and pudding."

He tutted. "Why d'yer always do this t'me, eh? Next you're gonna tell us-"

"I ain't gonna buy nothin'!" I assured him. "But I would like to scope out the potential of consignin' some stuff if we have any next year."

"Next year?"

"It's too late to consign anythin' for this year. But if we have some next year...we can't keep 'em all, can we?"

"No, we can't." He shook his head. "Not unless we...we'll stay at Mam's then. And we can do 'er birthday and that whilst we're there."

"Okay." I nodded. "I'll let Emma and Paul know. And Liam and Nicole unless they all wanna do somethin' d-"

"It don't have to be the whole fuckin' family, Addie! I know in your world it does but in ours, we- Mam should be celebrated every day of the year as far as I'm concerned. So, what anybody else wants to fuckin' do-"

"Is their business. I know."

He scowled. "Don't take the piss!"

"I'm not!" I defended. "If you don't wanna celebrate with 'em, we don't have to. But if they've already made plans that coincidentally fall on the same day as ours..."

"Addie!" He snarled.

I gulped. "I'm sorry-"

"No, you're fuckin' not! Y'know what fuckin' happens anytime we try to have a fuckin' family get together! Just like the time I took it upon me self to plan a fuckin' quiet dinner out for Mam's birthday but Your Kid fuckin' grassed us up so we couldn't-"
