Knock! Knock! Knock!

The pounding on the door was so loud I thought it'd come crashing down. Straight into the house and slammed down on the entryway floor.

The doorbell rang too. A quick, drilling ring that would surely break the button at some point.

"I'll get it!" I offered racing towards the noise hoping to stifle it as soon as I could. I gazed through the door viewer then opened the door since the person outside was no stranger. "Liam? What the h-"

"We've not got the time to dick around, yeah?" He cut me off. "'Cuz I've come 'ere to tell yer summat well important."

"What's that?"

"We've got a record deal."

My heart skipped a beat. "You what?"

"Well, we've not got one yet." He clarified. "But we will have. After tomorrow night. I've a feelin' in me bones-"

"Liam, what the heck are you talkin' about?" I interrupted him.

"The gig, right? The one up in Glasgow. King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, we gotta be there tomorrow and you're comin' with us."

"Liam-"

"Don't Liam me!" He threw his hands up. "Just say you'll fuckin' come! I know it's a bit last minute but we've only just got it sorted and-"

"How ya getting' there?" I inquired.

"We've rented a van."

"Oh-kay, but you don't even drive so how-"

"Look, Shea, it's sorted, yeah? Bonehead's gonna drive us. It's gonna be mega. And we're gonna get a record deal."

I shrugged my eyebrows. "You sound so sure of it!"

"Course I fuckin' do!" He nodded. "This is the most surest fing in all me fings. So just fuckin' come, yeah?"

"Yeah."

He smirked at me. One of those bashful yet sly smirks.

I couldn't help but blush and he knew that which is why I think he kept doing it.

"Shea? Who's at the door?" My mom called from another room.

"It's Liam!" I informed her. "He's just come 'round to-"

"Invite her to a gig tomorrow!" Liam piped up.

"Oh, okay." Mom replied. "Hi, Liam!"

"Hiya, Mrs. Davis!" He returned with a wave even though she couldn't see him.

He looked back at me then began sniffing the air behind me in the house. "Have you been bakin' biscuits?"

"Yep." I nodded.

"Chocolate biscuits?"

"Chocolate Chip biscuits."

He continued sniffing like a Beagle on a scent as he stepped into the doorway. "Well, I'd have a bash...if you were offerin' of course."

"Sure." I smiled at him. "C'mon." I ushered him inside.

I sat him down at the kitchen table then fetched the cookies and glasses of milk.

"Ta!" He said as I set a full glass down in front of him.
