We had been running for a while now and we all were getting tired. It was almost sunset and we decided to set up a camp. We didn't want to big of a fire, since the guards would be able to see the smoke rising. I searched through my bag that Lovely gave me and found that there were some sheets and blankets for us. We set them down and started the fire.

After a few hours, we were settled in for the night and we sat around the fire.

"So Dani, do you know how you got your powers?" Xavier finally said after a long period so silence.

"No. I don't remember anything about my parents or the rest of my family so I can't say anything about them. Though, as I grew up, I never really got sick, I just thought that it was because I was immune, but now that I think about it, the more it makes sense that one of my parents or someone in our family with magic put a spell on me so that I couldn't get sick." I said.

"That seems right, the King and Queen were always a little secretive when it came to their family history. At school, we never learned about their family, but legends and very recent events that we already knew. Everyone always thought that they had something to hide, but everyone loved them so they overlooked it." said Georgina.

"Well, they certainly did have something to hide." I said with a smile. We started laughing and when we calmed down Xavier said

"You know, I've always had a weird feeling about them, I always feel like somehow, I knew that they were not a normal royal family."

"How? I mean, it's not like you knew them. You were with Zanthis in his old kingdom weren't you?" I said.

"Not always. It wasn't until he came here that he adopted me." Said Xavier, his smile fading. "Before he came here, one of his maids, my mother, became pregnant and moved back here to her friends family. She died at childbirth and in her last moments, she said that it was her duty to give me up to him so I could continue working for him like she promised she would. He didn't like the idea of having to take care of a child, but he knew that I would be a great use to him to continue my mother's duty to be a servant to him." Xavier paused, looking down at his hands. "But he didn't come until I was 7 or 8, but he still remembered my mother's promise, so he took me in. Later he realized that it was good for is image for him to just say I was is adopted son and not servant. So that's what I became, even though, out of the spotlight I was still his servant, I was able to have more freedom."

I just listened to him talk the rest of the night, until we finally feel asleep.

It hadn't been long from when we feel asleep when we woke up. It was just becoming sunrise when we heard those familiar heavy footsteps. We jumped up and bolted right then. It wasn't thought, it was instinct. We ran and ran until we didn't hear them anymore, then we stopped to catch our breath.

"How did they find us so quickly?" Lovely said.

"I don't know, but until we know they are not going to be following us, we need to keep running." Xavier said.

"This is good. I know exactly where we are. We are in the middle of the woods, but this is a familiar part of the woods to me. If we turn here and go off the trail, we can get to my house and they won't even know where we have gone." I said. They all nodded and we ran towards my home. I was a little excited to see my home again, but nervous at the same time,

"What if the guards have found my home already? What if they are there guarding it?" So many questions flowed through my mind, but I just kept running.

Not very long after, we reached a small sort of clearing that I knew was not very far from my home.

"Come on, this way." I said leading the way. As we got closer and closer, I could start seeing bits of the back of my little cottage. My smile kept getting bigger and bigger. We stopped at the back and I practically hugged that side, but then I heard something, something rustling inside. I hushed the others and slowly walked along the side to the front. As we got to the front, I saw that no guards were there, which was a relief, but someone was still inside. Xavier volunteered to go inside, but I said insisted I at least went with him. He agreed and together we went inside. Not knowing who we were up against.

We walked through the half open door to see that the floor was quite messy, but the upper counters were not messed with. We thought that was strange but continued to my bedroom. There we found our culprit, but it wasn't what we were expecting; it was a dog. I was pitch black all over and looked very hungry and tired.

"Oh! You poor little thing!" I said, walking over to it carefully, it seemed frightened.

"Dani! What are you thinking! It could be dangerous!" Xavier said.

"Oh psshh! It's just a poor hungry dog." I said, pulling out a piece of bread and put it in my hand. The dog looked at me for a second, then sniffed the bread, finally he decided to lick it up from my hands. He then got up and ran out the room and out the cottage. I laughed,

"I guess all he needed was a little food and he was all better." I said.

"Ya I guess so." Xavier said. I walked out of the room and looked at my floor. It was a disaster, but easily fixed. I bent down on my knees and started to pick up the food and cloth on the ground. Xavier bent down next to me and started helping. Georgina and Lovely came in and they started to help and within 5 minutes the floor was clean.

"Well everyone, welcome to my home!" I said.

"It's very cozy here." Said Georgina.

"Yes, it is very cute though." said Lovely.

"Ya, defiantly." said Xavier. We knew he didn't really know what to say about the place so we all just started laughing. I gave them a quick tour of the place and showed them the bedroom where we would all sleep. It wasn't big, but not small either and with me sleeping on the bed, Georgina and Xavier could sleep on the floor and Lovely anywhere really. We all got settled in again and after eating a pretty good dinner, we went to peacefully went to sleep.
