“Shweta drink this.” Prakash offered a glass of drink towards her. Shweta nodded negatively, wiping her tears. “Kuch to khao Shweta. Apne haalath bi dekho. Tillu bilkul theek ho jaye ga.” Bebe also encouraged her but Shweta was not giving in. “Aunty please.” Mitali also tried.

“Neivi kaha he?” Shweta asked. “Av-Avni ke pass he.” Prakash said half heartily, keenly observing her reaction. “Avni yaha he?” Shweta asked, surprised. “Kaha he wo?” Bebe asked then, sounding equally surprised as of Shweta.

“She’s there, a few blocks away. Sitting with Neivi.” Prakash explained. “To yaha kyu nahi aaya?” Shweta’s question left him dumdfound. Prakash later explained why Avni was refusing. Shweta hung her head low, a few more tears spiling out of her eyes, this time, of pure guilt.

“Where is she? Take me to her.” Shweta then asked, almost as if begging, as if she was keen to see her.

Prakash stood up and walked towards where Avni was sitting with Neavi, the others following him. As soon as they spotted Avni their steps haulted. Avni stood up picking a sleeping Neivi on her shoulders , her eyes widened slightly seeing them. Shweta walked further until she stood infront of Avni whose heart was beating at a very haste pace. Before Avni could utter anything, Shweta held her hand apologetically and sobbed taking her by surprise.

“I'm- I'm so sorry Bacha... I'm sorry...” She sobbed audibly, crying her heart out. Avni looked visibly confused at the scenarios happening right in front of her eyes. “I.. I know I did you wrong. You always considered me as your mother and I yet couldn't understand what is in your mind. I'm a selfish mother, I know, I only thought about Tillu and his happiness forgetting that his happiness lies in you. I am sorry that instead of calming his anger and making things with you right, I did a lot of wrong things. Please ho sake tho maaf kardo mujhe or mere Tillu ko. He's.. he's there fighting for his life, please Avni please go and call him, he will come back to you. Please... I'm sorry..” Shweta sobbed into her hands, tears rolling down her cheeks uncontrollably. The guilt was eating her up.

‘‘Aunty.. what are you saying?” Avni asked, trying to calm her sobbing. “Shweta Aunty is right Avni.” Mitali spoke catching everybody's attention. She removed her engagement ring and placed it on Shweta’s palms. “His happiness lies in you. He was angry and hurt that's why he took such harsh decisions. In the back of my mind, I know our marriage wouldn't work out because he will always come back to you. I told him a million times to think before taking this decision but it was his anger speaking out. I don't deserve this Avni. Nobody loved Neil like you did. Nobody will.” Mitali’s words surely awestrucked the people around her.

“Nahi Mitali. I was the only wrong choice in his life. I have always told him to go away from me. I'm a curse, I never wanted him to get affected of my fate but he never paid any heed to my words. I can never keep him happy. And perhaps this relation was made to be broken. He knew what he was doing. He's finally got rid of me. He is ready to start a new with you Mitali, he will never ever forgive me. I don't want him to. He himself told me to go away from his life. I won't come back. Please be there with him, make him happy.” Avni stammered and gulped down a sob that left her throat.

“Avni beta what are you saying? You know Neil right? He was hurt and angry that's why he said all those--” Bebe came up. But Avni nodded a no. “It will all be okay when I am away. He hates me now, that's.. that's fine.. atleast he will have a peaceful life... Without me by his side..”

You are my peace. Why Avni? Why did you always thought that? You were my peace, my happiness. Wasn't my love enough for you to know how much you mean to me?

‘‘Because she has lost the people she always loved. She was always lost, hated, criticized by the society. By her own people. How can she not think that? It will conclude in her mixed emotional mind that she is the reason why all of it is happening. She felt like her presence in your life was a harm to you. So she left. Again, you claim to know her but you don't.” Peter laughs at the last sentence and shows another canvas. Another alternative.

I was awake, but she was still sleeping locked up in my arms. A small strand of her hair was disturbing her sleep as it tickled her face. She squirmed and tossed. I chuckled and slowly tucked the strand of hair behind her ear and slowly kissed her forehead, her nose, her cheeks and finally her lips. A small smile appeared on her lips as she felt my touch. I hugged her even more tighter, pressing her against my body.

A knock was heard.

“Dadaaa!” A whined and I immediately got up from the bed and opened the door. My doll was standing outside, sleepy, her braided hair a mess, eyes barely open, her hands securely keeping her stuffed bunny, her favorite one. “Dadaa...godhi..” She said and opened her arms. I picked her up, kissed her hair and walked towards the bed, and slowly placed her between Avni and me. She immediately hugged me, and in the same moment, Avni hugged me too.

I see myself closing my eyes in pure bliss and hugging them more tighter. My throat feels heavy. My heart is still frantic, guilt weighing down.

“Is.. Is this the end?” I asks, my mind and heart, both hopping for a no. I want to go back with them. “No. It's just the beginning of another journey.” Peter says with a soft smile and walks forward.

This is the end of my life here. My this birth is concluding.

I know I promised a double update but I'm sorry I forgot XD

So here it is.

The reason why I am not talking about the actual reason why Avni left is that, I wanted Neil to know the depth of his mistakes without knowing the truth why she left. I wanted him to realise that in the anger and hurt he told words that were extremely wrong. I am just giving him a reality check here.. so the truth doesn't exactly play a crucial role in this plot.
