"I need my own car." she huffed in annoyance stuffing her hands in her pockets.
"Do you even have your license?" Michael asked, some what amused and she scoffed.
"Of course I do I'm seventeen years old. I just can't afford one." she said grumpily.
"Stop being so moody." he whined, nudging her with his shoulder.
"I'm not moody, I just feel trapped. I can't go anywhere unless Luke or Naomi drives me and it's annoying." she said crossing her arms over her chest and he grinned at her and wrapped his arms around her body and pulled her into his lap and rested his head on her shoulder.
"I know, I know." he said.
"I need more friends, or at least a new best friend." she mumbled. She was thinking about who she got along with, which was very few, and zoned out looking at her backpack where her sketch book was peaking out and she remembered the waitress that she met in CoCo's Cafe, what was her name, Cathy? Catie? She got her sketch book and inside there was a napkin with a phone number and a name, Cassie, her name was Cassie.
"Who's Cassie?" Michael asked looking over her shoulder.
"A waitress who was really nice to me, I completely forgot about her until now." she said.
"You should call her." he said and she shrugged.
"I guess." she said and pulled her phone out and dialed the number. After a few rings a girl answered.
"Hello?" she said and Astrid swallowed the lump in her throat and spoke.
"Hi, is this Cassie? My name's Astrid, we met at CoCo's the other day, you were the waitress that served me." she said nervously, what if she was just wasting her time? There was silence over the phone for several moments before Cassie finally spoke.
"You're the girl who came during the storm right?" she asked. She remembered.
"Yeah that's me, you said call anytime so I remembered you had given me your number..." she said trailing off and she heard Cassie giggle over the line.
"Yeah I know, I was hoping you'd stop by the cafe again so I could talk to you more, but I'm glad you called." she said. Astrid smiled slightly at Michael.
"I was wondering, do you think we could hang out like later today maybe?" she asked hesitantly.
"Yeah, do you wanna stay over or something?" Cassie asked.
"Yeah sounds great, can you pick me up?" She asked.
"Sure just give me the address." She said and Astrid gave her the address over the phone and hung up. Michael raised an eyebrow at her expectantly.
"I'm staying the night at Cassie's tonight." She said and got out a bag and stuffing a few items inside.
"Fun." He said sarcastically.
"What?" She asked.
"Nothing, I'm just thinking about how awkward it will be just standing in the background while you talk about girly things I don't know. It just weird. Might get boring for me because you won't pay attention to me." He said. She rolled her eyes.
"There are other rooms in the house if you don't want to hear what we're talking about and I'm not going to ignore you the whole time. I promise." She said, pressing a quick kiss on his lips. He rolled his eyes and shook his head his head.
"Mhm okay." he said and she elbowed him in the side playfully.
"Yeah I'm the moody one." She said giggling.
"Oh just get ready to go." He said grinning at her.

"Here we are, home sweet home." Cassie said as they walked through the door. Her house was huge, her family must be wealthy.
"Your house is huge." Astrid said staring with wide eyes. "It's very nice."
"Thanks. Make yourself at home. I'll take your bag upstairs to my room." She said smiling.
Astrid gave a small one in return but she felt extremely nervous. In the car ride over here she could barely talk, so it was a long ride, and it didn't help that she lived in another school district.
"You okay?" Michael asked, resting his arm on her shoulder.
"I'm fine. Just nervous. I'm not the best around new people." She said.
"Don't worry you'll be fine." He said as Cassie came back down stairs.
"So what do you want to do first?" Cassie asked and Astrid shrugged.
"I dunno." She said and Cassie thought for a moment.
"I got Netflix. We could watch something on there." Cassie replied.
"Yeah sounds great." Astrid said following Cassie into the family room where she set up Netflix.
"What do you wanna watch?" She asked and Astrid shrugged again.
"I don't know what's on Netflix. I've never had it." She replied sheepishly and Cassie grinned widely, showing her teeth.
"Well, I hope you like freaky stuff, because you're going to watch American Horror Story (A/N: because I'm absolutely in love with that show) with me. I haven't gotten to watch season three yet." She said excitedly and Astrid nodded.
"Okay cool."
After about six episodes in Astrid began dozing off but Cassie shook her shoulder and she was woken up.
"You can't go to sleep yet it's only like 7:00. We haven't done anything but watch tv. Come on." Cassie said dragging Astrid off the couch. They went upstairs to her bedroom and Astrid sat awkwardly on the bed.
"So we don't really know much about each other, and I can tell how awkward you are so let's play 20 questions okay?" Cassie asked and Astrid nodded.
"Yeah okay. You go first." Astrid said and Cassie thought for a moment.
"What is your favorite band?" She asked.
"That's easy, Mayday Parade, you?" She said.
"Flyleaf, they're amazing. Your turn." Cassie said.
"Favorite subject?" she asked and Cassie thought about it.
"Music definitely, you?" she said.
"Art, I love drawing." she said.
Seventeen questions later things were getting a little more personal, but they had gotten to know each other better.
"Okay number eighteen, siblings?" Cassie asked.
"Yes, older brother and a foster sister, you?" Astrid said and Cassie bit her lip.
"I had a younger brother, but he passed away when he was five." she said.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Astrid said but Cassie shook her head.
"Don't be, you didn't know and it was a long time ago. You're turn." she said.
"Okay, do you have a boyfriend?" she asked and Cassie nodded smiling.
"Yeah, he just goes to another school, you?" She asked and Astrid blushed slightly.
"Yeah, I think that's what he is." Astrid said, partly relieved that Michael had wondered off.
"My turn, what's his name?" she asked and Astrid smiled.
"Michael, what about yours?" she asked.
"Ashton."
