chapter 24
"Lemony." Lorelei said as she stared at her mother, her plate still full. Emily, who didn't pay much mind to Lorelei, responded with a quick 'yes' before continuing to eat. "Nothing like a nice salad of lemony goodness." Lorelei stated to none in particular. There was a long silence as Lorelei stared at her own mother, to which Emily sighed deeply. "Mom." Emily nearly acclimated her daughter, only giving her a grunt of acknowledgement."Yes?" Emily said, playing with her food, not giving her daughter to night thoughts.
"So, um, it's like this..." Lorelei started but Emily didn't stop what she was doing to pay attention. "Could you pay attention for a second?" Lorelei asked as Emily looked up and gave a critical look. "Thank you." Emily set down her fork before giving her daughter a sassy look. "Okay, um... you know max?"
"No, I don't." Emily have a quick rebuttal with a sharp look. Her head was raised and her eyes lingered on Lorelei.
"Okay you don't know him, know him. but you know of him, right?" Lorelei tried to explain.
"I've head rumblings." Emily said, rather displeased.
"Okay, well, um." Lorelei sighed. "The... Max and I been serious for quite awhile now. And he asked me to marry him, and I said yes. I'm getting married." Lorelei spilled as Emily stared at her.
"I already knew this. But, I think that's very nice, Lorelei. I certainly hope we'll," Emily gave a glance to Victoria, who raised an eyebrow in return, "be in town for it. But if not, we'll send a nice gift. Now excuse me, I'm going to check on the roast." With that, Emily got up and left.
"Victoria." Lorelei said as she looked at her oldest child, who had said nothing for quite a long period of time.
"Yes, Lorelei?" Victoria said in the same tone her mother always used.
"I want you to be one of my bride's maids." Lorelei said but Victoria scoffed.
"Who said I wanted to be there?" Victoria asked as she set down her napkin.
"Well, you're my daughter. And the wedding is all Rory's had been talking about." Lorelei said as Victoria almost gagged.
"I'm not Rory, Lorelei. And it's about time you learned that. I try and try to forgive you but I don't know how long I'll be able to keep forgiving you; even if your mistakes are unintentional. I'll be around stars hallow, but don't say 'Hi' to me anymore, Lorelei." Victoria said in a stern tone.
"You're my daughter Victoria, you're supposed to be on my side. Am I not allowed to be selfish for once, or am I not important? I've given up a lot of myself and my childhood to raise you and Rory!" Lorelei exclaimed as Tristan felt his eyebrows furrow, what was she on about?
"Are you not allowed to be selfish for once?" Victoria said, slowly, aloud. She almost lost her mind having to Lorelei vent. "You've given up your childhood? At least you got to be a child! I was more of an adult than you by the time I was ten! You, Lorelei, don't know what you were doing when you had Rory and I. I know what I'm doing, I have a plan and the sacrifices I'm going to make. And I'm okay with that! You are reckless and delusional." Victoria ranted as she grabbed her bag (which was hanging on the side of the chair) and grabbed Tristan's hand.
"What's happening?" Emily asked as she came back from checking on the roast.
"Everything is perfectly fine, grandmom." Victoria said through gritted teeth as she gave Emily a hug and squeeze before separating. "I'm going to come here on next Tuesday but I have a shift next Friday, so I can't come to dinner. I'll make sure to call you, though. Bye grandmom, tell Rory and grandpa that I said 'bye' and that I love them." Victoria said as she grabbed Tristan's wrist, who waved with the other hand.
Tristan quickly mouthed the word 'sorry' to Emily as his wife dragged him out of the house and back into the car.
"Oh my god, why my mom have the nerve to accuse not only me, but my sister too of ruining her 'childhood'." Victoria ranted as she drove to Star's Hallow, to get a cup of coffee from Luke's. She really needed a cup of coffee from her dad.
"Vic, I know your mother is frustrating you... but don't take it out the engine of our car." Tristan said as she placed his hand over the small pump at Victoria's abdomen.
"I just can't believe her, I think everything is going okay, there are no accusations made, and then she just decided it's all mine and Rory's fault for her not being a child! Yet, she acts like one more than I do." Victoria said as she bursted into Luke's dinner, Tristan hot on her trail.
Victoria walked right into Luke's arms (he was cleaning a table when he saw her come in) and hugged him tightly. "Luke..." Victoria said as though she was about to cry, Luke quickly brought his attention over to her and gave her a sort of smile, hoping it would comfort her, even a little bit.
"Victoria." Luke said softly as he hugged her. "How about I bring you both some hot chocolates?" Luke suggested as he proceed to yell at Ceaser (his cook) to make the hot chocolates. "What happened, Victoria?" Luke asked as he sat down next to the pair.
"Lorelei blames me for everything!" Victoria's anger was rising. She was so upset with Lorelei that she almost ruined the car engine because she was going to do fast.
"She shouldn't, that's not her place. Victoria, if you want to cut Lorelei out of your life; then you have that right. None is stopping you." Luke rubbed Victoria's back as Tristan passed Victoria her hot chocolate.
"You're right." Was all Victoria said as she looked out the window, the stars were twinkling and peaceful.

I'm back once again. We are coming to the end of Volume one of the 'Molly' series. Once season 2 is over. I'll have some extra chapters before ending this book. I promise a sequel, I don't know when that will be, but it will be eventually and I'll add a chapter showing the book.
