34 - to get to know each other better

Theo smiled while walking to his locker. "Hey" he said to Charlie and opened his locker. "Hey Theo, any news for me about the weekend?" Charlie raised his eyebrows. Theo looked over to him "Oh yeah uhm not yet. Sorry I didn't find the right moment to ask my dad." Theo smiles nervously. "It's alright, just tell me if you know something" Charlie said. Theo closed his locker and leaned against it. "Also just wanna say, if I don't text you it's because I still don't have my phone and I don't know when i will get it back." Theo explained to Charlie. He nodded "Good to know, gonna need to my class. See you later." Charlie said walked away and winks to Theo, so he started to smile again. Theo went to his first class and met Noah there and talked a bit with him.

After school Theo went to the parking lot and waits for his dad. When he saw his dad's car, he went to get in. "Hey dad" Theo said while getting in the car, Tim looked at him "Hey kid, any idea what we should do today?" He asked his son. Theo thought for a moment "What about basketball?" He looked at his dad. Tim smiled "that's a good idea yeah" he said and started the car. They both drive to the park. While they went to the basketball court they talked a bit about their day. "Dad I wanna ask you something" Theo looked to his dad "Ask me buddy" he said. "Can I meet a friend at the weekend? Probably at his house just for a few hours" He stopped in front of the court. Tim looked at his son "Theo I know it's weekend and it would be boring for you to stay at home but I told you no hanging out with friends this week." He explained again to his son. Theo looked down "Dad I told you i'm sorry". Tim thought for a moment "Sometimes saying sorry doesn't help Theo. What about this, first who gets 10 points wins. If I win you will stay home this weekend, if you win you can meet your friend for a few hours on Saturday." Tim smiled at his son, Theo looked at his dad "Yeah okay deal" Theo smiled back.
They started to play together and after 15 minutes Tim got his last point "And this is number 10" He said and clapped. Theo catches the ball "Come on" he said annoyed. "My son you have to admit that your old dad is still better at basketball" Tim said and laughed. "Yeah okay" Theo said and sat down on the bench. Tim saw his son sitting on the bench who looked not amused. He sat next to Theo "Okay Theo listen. You can meet your friend this Saturday. Till then and also after it I want a perfect behavior and I want you to be honest with me about everything Theo." Tim said. Theo looked shocked to his dad "oh my god really dad? You are the best" Theo said and smiled. "Yes but you still have to admit i'm better at basketball" He laughed. "Sure old man" Theo laughed and leaned his head against Tim's shoulders. "Mhm I guess I have to think about it again" Tim smiled.

Saturday morning Theo woke up to get ready and meet Charlie. He went to the kitchen to see his dad already sitting at the table. "Morning Theo, already ready for the day?" He smiled at him, Theo nodded and sat down. "Yeah i'm gonna go in a few minutes" Theo said. "Yes I forgot, what friend? Noah or one of the others?" Tim asked his son. Theo looked at him "Oh no not Noah. Uhm his name is Charlie, he's new at the school." Theo explained and got up. "I have to go now dad, see you later" Theo said and went to the door. "Okay good to know. Be home at 6pm Theo. Have fun" Tim said with a smile on his face. Theo nodded and left the house to go to Charlie's house.

Theo came to Charlie's house and knocked. He stands there nervously waiting for Charlie to open the door. Theo heard footsteps coming to the door, hearing the doorknob. "Hey Theo" Charlie said with a smile. "Hi Charlie" Theo said back and smiled nervously. "Come in" Charlie said and took a step aside. Theo went in and turned around to Charlie. "You can put your stuff here again and come to the living room." Charlie said and went to the living room. Theo put his stuff down and went to the living room to Charlie. "Sit down here" Charlie pointed to the couch, Theo sat down. "So any ideas what we can do today?" Charlie asked, Theo thought for a moment "Actually no haha, whatever you want" He said. Charlie looked at Theo "Whatever I want?" He smiled. Theo laughed quietly. "Just let's start with playing my new game here okay" Charlie turned the tv on and started the game. They both played for a while. "So Theo I wanna ask you something" Charlie said, Theo looked at him "Mhm what?". Charlie paused the game and looked at Theo "You already told me you had a few problems with Nick from school and i'm probably just too curious but can you tell me what happened with him?" Charlie asked a bit nervously but he was curious what is going on between them. Theo looked at Charlie, he was a bit confused he didn't expected this question. "Oh it was just one of my friend bought something to smoke from him and then wanted some more money from me I don't even know why and first I didn't has that much money and then we just got into a fight or more like I got beaten up from him and his friends." Theo explained to Charlie who looked shocked. "Wow okay. I already know Nick is an ass but this is crazy, i'm so sorry" Charlie said. Theo smiled nervously "It's all good it's over so yeah". They kept talking about Nick and other things for like 30 minutes. "I'm getting hungry, wanna eat something?" Charlie asked and stood up and went to the kitchen, Theo followed him. "I'm not that hungry I would just drink something" Theo said. "Dude you never wanna eat something haha" Charlie laughed but Theo looked at him surprised that Charlie noticed that. "Mhm i already ate something at home" Theo lied, he didn't eat anything today or yesterday.
