8 - At the park

Finally 2 pm Theo thinks and leaves the school in the direction of the parking lot to wait for his dad.

Theo sees his dad driving up, just as he is about to go to the passenger seat he sees someone already sitting there, it's Lucy.

Theo climbs in behind his dad, buckles up and just looks out the window "Hey Theo, it's nice to see you again after a long time and to really spend time with you" Lucy said to Theo looking at him with a smile

"Sure cool, dad is it even okay you left work earlier?" Theo asking his dad still looking outside the window and Lucy just turned back after that dismissive reply

"To be honest, Lucy and I took extra time off today, so we can spend it together and you two can get to know each other better." explains Tim and looks through the rear-view mirror to his son with a smile but Theo only replied with "ok good"

15 minutes later they arrived at the park walking down to the food truck

"So Theo do you have any suggestions for me what to eat there? Its actually my first time here so I'm open to anything" Lucy said looking at Theo but he doesn't give her a look and just replies, "I don't know, I'll just eat the cheeseburger."

Tim is confused because his son actually loves it here and can't wait to tell people what to eat because it's so incredibly good.

"So if you ask me Lucy i would try the burger with bacon and egg it's good!" Tim told her and points to the menu

10 minutes later

"Thank you" Tim took the tray and went to the table where Lucy and Theo were already seated. They started to eat the burgers and Lucy tried to speak to Theo but he was rather dismissive

"Theo i heard you like to play basketball with your dad or friends, is that right?" Lucy asked Theo

"Yes i like it" he replied and stood up "Dad you have 2$ i want to get a coke" looking at his dad

"here 10$ bring us all something to drink, thanks" Tim gave the money to Theo and he went over to the truck and got something to drink

"Did i do something wrong? it seems like he don't wanna talk to me" Lucy asked Tim and looks very worried

"No Lucy, maybe something at school happened so he's just a bit annoyed but it's not because of you" Tim replied while he took Lucy's hand and looked into her eyes

"Here your drinks" said Theo and sat down again, "Dad do you have 40$ for me tomorrow?" He asked his dad

Tim looks confused "What's that for?"

"It's just I borrowed it from someone a few weeks ago and he needs it back tomorrow, so do you?" He said looking at his dad

"Theo we can talk about it at home, right now I don't have that much with me anyway."

After the three have eaten, they walk around the park for another round when they arrive at the basketball court

"Theo come throw a few baskets who gets 10 first" said Tim and runs onto the square and grabs a basketball that's lying there

the two started to play basketball and Lucy just watched after a few minutes Lucy said "hey let me throw too" and walked towards them both, Theo threw the ball over to her and sat down on the bench and took out his phone

Tim and Lucy played each other for a few minutes until Tim won after 10 baskets. "Yes I won again like always" exclaimed Tim and was happy. "You are such an idiot" said Lucy and walked towards Tim and the two kissed

"Theo come and play with us again" Lucy rowed over to him, "No can we drive home dad?" Theo asked his dad

"now?" Tim goes over to his son "What's the matter Theo?"

He looks at his dad "nothing i'm just tired and have homework to do" Theo answered

"My son is doing his homework, that's a miracle" said Tim with a smirk

"Funny dad" he said annoyed "can we go now" Theo asked again

"okay okay, Lucy, come on, we'll drive you home, Theo has to do something for school" Tim walked up to Lucy and took her hand

The three went back to the car and drove towards Lucy's apartment
