Katniss

Katniss cursed herself for her stupidity. She should've known that all along Percy was just another spy from the Capitol, disguised as a tribute to get into the arena. He was a spy, helping the Capitol audience spice things up in the arena and create excitement. Now she had so foolishly allied herself with him.

But there was a small voice at the back of a mind. If he was from the capitol, why did he save you and Peeta from the hellhound? Why would he risk getting exposed by saving you from the fire?

When they had accidentally bumped into the tributes from District seven, Katniss was still in shock from what Percy had done to the water. She had been unsure of his intentions from what he did. So she had made a split second decision to help Thalia and Nico to take Percy down.

She had strung her bow while Percy's back was turned, focused on the District seven tributes. She was mad at Percy for almost everything. She had been starting to trust him after the incident with the hellhound. But now, she realised that Percy had kept it a secret all along, and that he was a subject from the Capitol. Who else could make water act like that? It must be one of those high tech stuff.

Then Percy had looked back at her. He had registered everything in one glance, and his sea green eyes had a look of betrayal, as though she was doing something wrong. He'd suddenly forgotten about those other tributes he was facing, and had turned around to talk to her. Katniss wanted to scream at that point and tell those from seven to kill him while he was focused on her. But unfortunately, Thalia and Nico stayed where they were.

Percy said he wanted to explain everything to prove he was still her ally. She didn't know why he was so desperate to tell her everything. She considered just ending everything there and then. But somehow, Percy's tone made her want to believe what he said was true, that Percy was not someone from the Capitol.

"Just five minutes." She said. "Starting from now."

Percy glanced back at Thalia and Nico, whose weapons were still raised.

"We want to hear what he's going to say too." Thalia said, lowering her bow.

Percy quickly went over to where Katniss was. She still had her bow ready, just in case all this was one of Percy's tricks.

"Stay where you are." Katniss warned. "You move, and I'll make sure you are run through by this arrow. Just explain now."

Percy stayed rooted to the ground, and lowered his sword.

"Look. I told Peeta this earlier, that I am not from this District. I'm don't even belong to this time. I come from the past." Percy said quickly. "I'm here to protect you and Peeta."

"What do you mean? You can't protect us. This games are invented by the Capitol. There is no stopping them." Katniss said coldly.

"That's where you're wrong. There is one way to stop all this. You are the only one who can start a rebellion to get the districts to overthrow the Capitol. That is why I was sent to protect you and help you get out of this arena alive." Percy said calmly.

Katniss was trying to process what Percy was saying. Rebellion? Nobody ever rebels against the Capitol. They would all end up dead trying.

"What do you mean 'sent'? Where are you from if you are not from Panem?" Katniss asked.
