"Stop calling me that, I am no one's baccha and I don't want to marry you. And ...." She continues to blabber, her decision warning him multiple times about how she will trouble him daily if he says yes to this marriage.
Shivansh couldn't help but admire how her lips danced along the rhythms of the words. Each sentence she uttered sent a wave of calmness, emotions and determination into his heart. Her confidence and the way she effortlessly expressed herself mesmerized him. At that moment he realised it was not her beauty or her appearance but her confidence and boldness which made him fall for her more and more.
"Hey, are you listening what am I saying?" her voice broke his Terence making him smile at her. Aliyah rolled her eyes feeling annoyed.
"Dude, I just wanna say one thing. Just refuse the marriage," she said clearing her point.
"What if I say yes, marry you, love you, care for you and treat you like a queen?" he finally asked. Aliyah's eyes widened, an expression of shock covering her face hearing his confession. She searched deep into his eyes, seeking a lie in his deep husky voice. Finding none, her gaze dropped diverting her thoughts from his words. Taking a deep breath she looked into his eyes.
"Why do you want to marry me? I mixed chillies in your tea, I'm bossy, and I don't even regret it," Aliyah said, hoping he would understand.
"But that's exactly why I love you!" he replied, smiling. "I've always wanted a partner who is confident enough to stand her ground, whether it's through being assertive or through her actions."
His words left Aliyah in shock. She looked towards him and then towards the ground.
"Lis..." Aliyah was about to reply when they heard a knock. Taking a deep breath she opened the door only to find her sister-in-law standing there with a fake smile pasted on her face.
"Hey Shivansh," her sister-in-law said, her tone dripping with fakeness. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything important. But everyone is calling you both downstairs."
She frowned at Aliyah and left the room not before faking her smile at Shivansh. Aliyah turned towards Shivansh, blinking in confusion. A genuine smile played on his lips as he slowly moved towards her, taking her hand into his.
"I know it will be difficult for you but try to trust me, I will never give you a single reason to regret marrying me." he said, placing a tender kiss on the back of her palm. Aliyah gasped softly at his words, while her eyes followed his retiring figure. Her heart pounded with just a single thought, he was the man she wanted but her mind was caught in a web of fear.
"It's a yes from me maa!!" Shiavnsh exclaimed, and his answer sparked a wave of joy. Being the eldest and most cherished child of the family, his decision brought immense happiness among the family members.
"Wow, that means we'll finally have a bhabhi who will save us from Bhai's scoldings!" Prayansh jumped, making everyone chuckle, while Aliyah unknowingly blushed looking down.
"I have my ways to punish you," Shivansh stated playfully, causing Prayansh to pout.
"Swara, bring out some sweets. Our DAUGHTER is getting married!" Aliyah's father said emphasizing the word "daughter" with a hint of sarcasm.
"Wait bhaisaab" Shivansh's mom interrupts, confusing everyone. She walked towards Aliyah, who was silent since they were back from the room. The emotion flashing in her eyes was evident, reflecting her inner struggles and confusion about the alliance. Shivansh's mom gently held her hand, making Aliyah look up.
"Are you happy, beta? Are you ready to marry my son?" Shivansh's mom asked kindly. Aliyah felt a sense of relief, appreciating that someone was concerned about her feelings. Overwhelmed by the fact, she nodded yes and embraced Shivansh's mom in a warm hug.
"Bhabhi, you forgot me! I'm a member of your girl's team too," Aasika teased making Aliyah chuckle. Gesturing her to come closer, Aliyah embraced her in a group hug.
"Okay, Aliyah, tell me, are you free this weekend?" Shivansh's mom asked.
"Yes, Aunty," Aliyah replied softly, causing everyone to frown.
"I am not your aunty. I am your Maa. Call me Maa just like your soon-to-be husband and his siblings do!" Shivansh's mom insisted gently. Aliyah nodded murmuring an apology.
"No apology accepted." Shivansh's dad declared in a firm tone, Aliyah felt a wave of anxiety and fear hit her. Her palms sweated as she rubbed them abruptly to calm herself down.
"Please forgive our daughter, she is just stupid..." her father began, only to be cut off by Rajveer's sharp tone.
"Don't call my daughter stupid, or you will regret it," Rajveer warned him. The air grew tense, while Malhotra's were shocked to see the protectiveness of Rathore's towards Aliyah in just a mere hour.
"Let me talk to my daughter," Rajveer glared before turning towards Aliyah.
"Bacche, we are family now, you don't have to apologise or be thankful for little things. And about addressing us, We are your parents before your in-laws and they are your siblings just like they are Shivansh, I know things are new for you but try to accept us okay?" He asked in a gentle tone. Tears welled up in Aliyah's eyes getting so much love and affection from the people she met an hour ago whereas her own family was still treating her like trash.
"And yes bhabhi, I am Dhruv, your soon-to-be husband's best friend." Dhruv introduced.
"Hello," Aliyah replied softly.
They continued the conversation, helping Aliyah to bond and feel comfortable with them. Meanwhile, Shivansh couldn't help but admire her actions, the way she laughed, smiled and bonded with his family which was now her's too. The only fact that disappointed him was her family's treatment towards her, their displeasure about her being getting affection was visible in their eyes. As their family decided to get them engaged after a week, he was thinking of ways to impress her. Shivansh's family ended the conversation by inviting Aliyah to their engagement shopping with them, adding fuel to Aliyah's family's anger as they were ignored. Blessing Aliyah, Shivansh's family moved towards their cars taking their leave.
A great idea finally clicked into Shivansh's head, causing him to run back to Aliyah. She looked up into his eyes questioning, confused by his behaviour.
"Will go on a date with me, tonight?" Shivansh proposed. Aliyah's heart raced with excitement and nervousness.
"Yes," she replied in a whisper. Shivansh face lit up with a smile while Aliyah was fluttered with nervousness.
