Chyna and Amber sat over lunch and sipped on cosmos as they caught each other up. Amber came back home after days of spending time with family and Chyna got a new job opportunity while she was away.

"Congratulations on the job, Babe." Amber cheered as she clinked her glass with Chyna's.

"Finally, no more sitting at a desk answering stupid questions." She laughed while taking a quick sip of her Cosmo.

Their server came by with a slice of apple pie a la mode. The word 'Congratulations' spelled out with caramel on the plate, Chyna's smile brightened as she placed her hand to her heart and looked at Amber. She was so happy that Amber always thought about her and knew how to make someone smile.

"You did this?" Chyna gushed.

"Technically our waiter did, I just told him what to write." Amber confirmed as she pointed to the waiter and handed him a ten for the surprise.

"Please, your friend here knows you very well." He nervously spoke as he showed a smile and stuffed the tip into his pocket.

His dark chocolate skin bathing in the sun as he admired Amber and the light curls on her head. She reminded him of his first love, Sade Hammond. That girl was a goddess, she always rocked a slick back with bamboo earrings, A leather coat, and the latest sneakers in fashion. She knew everybody and everybody knew her name, it sat at the tip of their tongues like honey. If only she had stayed a bit longer, she'd see him down on one knee with a diamond ring. He stood there as he watched Amber speak but no sound was coming out of her mouth, Just the movement of her lips.

"Seems that way, may we have the check please?" Chyna noticed as she looked between the two and bumped Amber with her elbow.

The waiter nodded and went his merry way to their check. Chyna immediately knew the two had tension going on, but she pretended not to notice. She wanted to see her best friend happy and in love, especially after all the stuff she's seen, it'd be nice for a change. Of course, She wants the same thing for herself but not before her best friend was able to. Putting those before her and letting them get the spotlight since that's all she's been getting at a young age. Chyna would do anything for Amber even if it meant hopping in front of a train for her.

People looking at their relationship from an outside view might see it as Chyna has a crush on Amber, but that's not the case. She just loved her best friend with all her heart and hoped nothing came between their friendship. The waiter slid back to the table with a check in his hand and to go boxes in another, he had placed his number on the back of the receipt hoping Amber would see it. The two waved goodbye leaving him to clean their table and continue back on his scheduled shift.

"He was cute." Chyna admitted as she wrapped her arm around Amber "What did you think?"

"He was. Wish I caught his name while I was staring at the rings on his fingers." She commented as she looked into the sky and replayed the silver set of metal on his hands.

His rings ranging from Chrome Hearts to what looked to be handcrafted by him, Amber liked a man who was into arts or at least showed some type on interest in it. She always looked for her father in men, Those interested in what she liked and those who had caring features. Though she has pretty privilege, Sometimes it didn't come to use when she needed it to. She could be a masterpiece and some wouldn't even bat an eye at her. That was until she met her list of exes and phases who waited in line just to have some time with her. Recently Amber has allowed Rio to use his full attention on her. Luckily he hasn't wasted any time.

As much as Amber would love to add to her roster, She already has a lot on her plate. Balancing the gallery, Tracking down that one night stand, and keeping her head in the game about her project. All of this could be so much smoother if she had a lightbulb shining in her head right now.
