Twists

"Y/n. Are you ok? You need to wake up." I heard a voice say as my body shook. My eyes slowly open led to reveal Robin kneeling over me. "Twister is still out there."

I pick myself up, kinda woozy but nodded. "Yeah. Thanks." We all walked out to find Wally facing off with Twister. "I would have thought you had learned your limitations by now." The robotic voice said condescendingly.

"What can we say we're suckers for pain." I retorted. Kaldur stepped forward demanding what the man wanted.

"Isn't it obvious? I'm waiting for a real hero."

"Read his mind." Kaldur instructed M'gann. "Find his weakness."

"I thought I wanst supposed to do that." She said panicked.

"M'gann, it's ok if you do it with the guys that try to kill us" I said gesturing to the flying man.

She tried reading him but didn't get anything and she fell silent frustrated. Until she seemed to come to a realization. "Hello, Megan. Mr. Twister is Red Tornado in disguise. He's inorganic, an android. And how many androids do you know that can generate tornadoes?"

All the evidence seemed to point to that conclusion. The tornadoes, the fact that he was the one that sent us here after he said we'd be tested soon.

"This is his test. Something to keep us busy." Robin said in frustration. Wally definitely felt the same saying Speedy had been right about us. Did they really still see us as little kids? Even after Cadmus?

Annoyance radiated through me. "Agh! This is so over." I declared as we marched over to the Red to confront him.

"We know who you are and what you want." Robin declared.

"So let's end this!" Kaldur added. The villain seems to take that as an opportunity to hit as hard as he wanted.

"Consider it ended." Dark clouds filled the sky as the wind blew debris all around us.

"An impressive show, but we will not indulge you. We will not engage." Thunder and lightning boomed in the sky.

"Uh, can Tornado do that?" I asked feeling as if we'd just made a mistake.

Twister laughed, "You think I'm Red Tornado? Ironic." A bolt of lightning hit the groups sending us flying back. Superboy and I went to attack the villain but got shot out of the sky when I got struck by a bolt of electricity. A horse grunt escaped my throat as I slid against the ground.

Today was really not our day. M'gann used the camouflaged Bioship to hid us from Mr.Twisters sight. "Fine, then. I won't deny you children have power, but playing hide and seek with you would not help me achieve my objectives. So stay concealed. If you confront me again, I will show you no mercy."

He flew toward the more populated part of Happy Harbor as the rest of the team woke up. "What happened?" Wally asked.

"I placed the Bioship between us." M'gann explained. This just seemed to piss Superboy off more than he already was. "And that's supposed to make it right?" The boy questioned walking toward her. "You tricked us into thinking Twister was Red Tornado."

"She didn't do it on purpose." I defended, putting my hand on his shoulder. I could see the guilt seep into M'gann's eyes. "I-it was a rookie mistake. We shouldn't have listened." Robin added.

Wally turned to her, "You are pretty inexperienced. Hit the showers. We'll take it from here."

"Just stay out of our way." Superboy growled.

I helped the girl up from where she sat. "We all make mistakes M'gann. We'll take care of it." I flew off after the boys to help them take care of the threat.
