"I need to talk to Aqualad. The rest of you, hit the showers and head home." Batman instructed. We'd just gotten back from a mission that didn't go exactly as planned. Batman had to step in and give us a hand in handling the threat.

"Head home? I am home." Conner replied. The team was covered in sludge from the villain we faced and we dispersed to get cleaned up and for some of us to head to school.

I got into the shower and let the sludge and all the tension from the mission slip away. It felt so much better getting rid of all that grim but I couldn't say the same for my suit. I guess I was gonna have to leave it here to get cleaned.

Dick and I decided to go head to school together but he seemed off. His fists were bawled in a fist and his face held a hard look. "What's got your panties up in a bunch?" I questioned as we walked into the building.

"Nothing. I'm fine." He said shutting me out.

"Dick. Come on, I've known you longer than most of that team. What's bothering you?" I asked placing a hand on his shoulder.

He looked conflicted but relented. "Batman. Why did he want to talk to just Aqualad? What does that even mean?" His voice gravelly.

"It could just mean he wanted to brief him on something. Or talk to him about something personal." He looked to be considering the possibility. "It doesn't mean he values you less that you're not our leader."

Dick nodded his head seemingly cooling off a bit but still held some annoyance. "Fine. Let's just go to class." He walked ahead of me as I trailed behind him.

A few days later, Dick and I circled each other in the middle of the ring. Each of us taking our own stance, ready to engage. I thought a bit of training would take his mind off of what happened with Batman before since he still seemed a bit off.

He charged at me, throwing multiple punches at my body. He was quick but I dodged all the attacks he threw at me and kicked him away.

I closed the distance between us and flipped him onto the ground. "Damn, Dick. Are you going soft on me?" I asked with a cocky grin. His legs twisted and hooked my legs, bring me down next to him. "Nevermind then."

We both laughed as we sat up and leaned against each other. "Are you feeling better?" I asked.

He nodded, "Yeah, thanks Y/n, I really needed that."

"Don't sweat it." I smiled and turned to face him. "Just don't let it get to you. Even though Bats is your mentor, you don't always have to be all secretive all the time, especially with me."

"I—" Before he could say anything Red Tornado walked in and instructed us to get dressed in our suits for a new mission.

Batman started briefing us on the mission once everyone was in the room. "The watchtower detected an immense power surge in the Bialian desert."

'Five more minutes... wait... why's my bed so grainy?' My eyes opened to see mountains of sand and the starry night sky looking down at me. I sat up, my eyebrows farrowing in confusion.
