"Honey. Honey wake up you have to go to school." I heard as I got shaken wake by my mom. I shifted slightly not really wanting to but I knew I had to if I was gonna make it to school in time.
"Mmm, I'm wake. Thanks mom." I said sitting up from my bed. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. My hair was kind of a mess but it was an easy fix. Nothing a little TLC couldn't fix. I pulled my self out of bed, tripping over a few books along the way but I managed to make it to the bathroom and hopped into the shower.
When I was done I got on my clothes and I got my school stuff ready. As I was as getting my backpack I started thinking about Conner. Dad hadn't really said anything about it since we found out he existed. I knew it must have been confusing but it still sucked not knowing what he was thinking.
I finally walked into the kitchen to find mom and dad at the table having breakfast and preparing for their day.
"Good morning parents." I smiled and took my seat. Mom set a plate of waffles in front of me along with some orange juice. I smiled and thanked her before digging in.
"So dad..." I started. He hummed in response and set the paper down. "I was wondering what we were going to do about Conner."
His face twisted to one of discomfort. "The league and I have that covered sweetie, you don't need to concern yourself with any that."
"But dad he's basically my brother I need to know don't I?" I got increasingly worried. "Why can't you just tell me what you're thinking."
"Y/n. That's enough. I told you I'll handle it. I will handle it." I could sense the tension in the room and I'm guessing mom could too.
"I thought you trusted me but I guess I was wrong." I got up, pushing the seat away and grabbed my bag. Mom tried to stop me but I was already out of the door.

Metropolis
August 3, 7:38 EDT
I'd gotten an alert from Red Tornado letting me know there was an emergency in the city that needed attention. I got there as fast as I could only to be met by a collapsing bridge and a few cars on the edge of falling into the raging water. I noticed dad mending the bridge temporarily with his heat vision and Conner pulling a school bus to safety.
I brought a few on stable ground and made sure everyone was ok and safe. I made my way over to the pair. "As it is your landing could have destabilized the entire bridge." Superman scolded. "It didn't." Superboy defended.
"But it could have. We don't yet know the limits to your powers.
Superboy looked away, "Well maybe you could, you know help me figure that out. Like you did with Astria."
Dad glanced at me, "Batman has that covered. Before either of us could say anything his comm beeped taking his attention away.
I sighed. Why didn't he just want to face this head on? "Sorry Super...boy. Duty calls." He flew away, leaving us standing there surrounded by pieces of rubble.
"I'm sorry Superboy. If it makes you feel better he's not talking to me much either." My voice coming out in a softer manner.
"Well it doesn't. He responded.
"Yeah I know."
