i panicked after an hour of waiting for colette to text me.

so i called the only girl i knew who could give me advice, that isn't my mom.

i called liv.

"hey coley." she greated, a smiled on her face.

"eh, when are you going to stopping calling my wife?" jack asked.

liv is engaged to jack hughes, he popped the question at center ice just minutes after he won the stanley cup!

jacks a life long friend of mine, great person & great player.

liv is my girl best friend. she's actually kinda famous, she started making tiktoks when she was in college & playing soccer. thats how me & jack found out about her, but what they don't know is that i used to have a crush on her, a crazy crush! i think at one point i kinda envied jack because he had her.

but they deserve eachother, theyre so good for eachother its weird. they balance eachother out so perfectly.

plus i still get to have liv in my life, as a best friend of course.

"fiancée." she corrected.

"close enough." jack said.

"whats up?"

"so im talking to this girl."

"yeah?" she said.

"she hasn't texted back in an hour and i hung up on her because i got jealous because her brother doesn't like that shes talking to a professional athlete and its been an hour, should i text?" i blurted.

"woah," she said and jack laughed. "shut up. i remember your mom telling me all the times you called her for help, you baby."

i chuckled at her scolding jack.

"obviously give her time but let her know that theres a time frame, that way she doesn't keep you waiting for a week or so. if shes like me she might need time to think and she might be talking to her brother about it, who knows." she said.

"thanks liv."

"and send her flowers." she smiled.

"you just want me to send you flowers." i joked.

"you can do that too."

"where are you guys?" i asked.

"michigan." they said in unison.

"family vacation?"

"yeah and then were going back to jersey for a wedding, then massachusetts." liv clarified.

"woah, busy people."

"you still in montreal?"

"yeah, i head back home to wisconsin tomorrow." i said.

"nice. we should link up. golf?" jack asked.

"im in. liv you wanna caddy for me?" i asked.

"woah buddy, shes my caddy."

"no, im no ones caddy." she said.

"ill buy you wine while we play." jack offered.

"why doesn't your girl come with me and we can have a girls day?" she asked.

"well, that's because, she's probably busy." i said.

"text her but dont sound needy." live said. "just a simple hey checking in, lets talk when youre ready but dont keep me waiting too long. short & sweet."
