Chapter 18

Takemichi and Chihiro shared another look, 'Are we really that bad?' "Let's head out. You girls comin'?" Draken asked the girls. Chihiro knew this would be when Kisaki was made a captain in Toman. Chihiro turned to her friend, "Ikki?" Hibiki held up her hands with an apologetic smile, "I'll have to pass this time." Chihiro nodded and waved to Hibiki before following Mikey and Draken out while Takemichi questioned them, "Where are we going?" As they exited, the other members of Toman were waiting for them. "It's finally happening," Mitsuya commented.

Mikey turned back to the three of them, "Takemichy. Chichi. Let's go. Got a new third division captain to welcome." Takemichi hopped on Mikey's motorcycle and Chihiro rode with Mitsuya. They all head to Musashi Shrine where the meeting will be held to welcome Kisaki as the new captain of the third division. "I don't have a good feeling about this," Takemichi muttered. Chihiro nodded in agreement, knowing that nothing good was about to happen. The siblings took their spots beside Mitsuya. Draken stepped forward to address the gang, "We're here to officially name the new captain of the third division!"

"Third Division Captain! Step Forward!" Mikey ordered. Chihiro tensed up as someone brushed past her. Glancing to the side she saw Kisaki staring past her to Takemichi as he walked by. She could feel the tense atmosphere swirl around them. Kisaki had been the main antagonist of the whole story. Chihiro had only seen him personally once in passing, but now he was up close and personal. The person who tormented so many people she cared about.

Images of Kakucho flitted through her mind at that moment. She felt that same anger from earlier bubbling up inside her. The feeling was familiar yet foreign to her. When Chihiro tried to place the feeling her memories felt very fuzzy. When she tuned back to the things going on around her it was too late. Takemichi was already decking Kisaki across the face. "The hell are You ain't even in Toman! What the hell are you doing ruining the ceremony!??!" Draken screamed at him.

Takemichi seemed confused at his actions too. As the others started to crowd her brother, she was about to react when a hand on her shoulder stopped her. She looks back to see Baji who gives her a look telling her he got this. Chihiro knew what he was about to do. Though she didn't condone letting someone beat her brother up, she knew it was the only way. If Baji never got involved during this moment Takemichi would probably be in hot water. Due to Baji intervening, it focused attention on him.

Only a surprise appearance from Baji stops Takemichi from dealing with far more severe consequences for his actions. So, Chihiro watched as Baji ran up and started to punch her brother. Mitsuya stopped Baji, "Alright, that's enough." Chihiro then took action rushing over to her brother. "Let go, Mitsuya, or I'll kill you," Baji calmly demanded. Chihiro helped steady her brother, whispering, "What were you thinking?!" Takemichi meekly muttered, "Sorry."

Mistuya questioned Baji, "What is it? Why are you here?" Baji didn't answer him and focused all his attention on Mikey, "Mikey!" Mikey didn't seem all too pleased to see him, "Why are you here Baji? You've been banned from attending our meetings, remember." Baji grinned widely, "Yeah I do and I just slugged this twerp in the face. So, does that mean, I'm finally going to be fired from more than your precious meeting?" Chihiro still thought Baji's acting seemed too cheesy movie villainy. Everyone believed him to be a traitor until the Bloody Halloween event. She found the traitor act was spread a little too thick.

How did everyone believe his act, she didn't know. He even voiced before how he thought letting Kisaki be in the gang was a bad idea. He was especially gunning for Kisaki during the gang fight. It was obvious to her that he hadn't truly betrayed the gang. "Baji," Mikey said in warning. "Fine. I'll join Valhalla. You don't want any troublemakers do you Mikey? So your first division captain will just go ahead and resign. And starting right now, Toman's former captain becomes its enemy." Baji declared, before leaving. He didn't stop walking even as Mikey called out to him.
