the next morning maddox was still upset and maddy's family could notice but maddy told them all this morning what happened before maddox woke up.
maddox slept in till 11:00 and he defiantly needed that. he's going through alot and sleep helps everyone get away from reality.
once he woke up maddy's mom hugged him and told him how sorry she was for his loss and that she sends prayers to his whole family.
maddox wanted to stay but he had to go home to his family and maddy didn't hear from him the rest of the day but she understood because he was hurting

"mama" maddy says coming down stairs "yes maddy" her mom questions. "maddox's sisters funeral is tomorrow and they invited us" maddy says. "yes his mother texted me i told her we would be there" she says. "okay thanks mama !" maddy says going back up to her room so find a black dress for tomorrow.

the next morning maddy woke up and put on a black flower dress and some cow girl boots and she did light make up.
once her family was ready they headed to the place where the funeral was being held. it was at a nice big church in texas about 20
minutes from maddy's house. maddy was nervous to see all of maddox's family and cousins and stuff but she was also nervous to see everyone upset especially maddox him being upset broke her heart.
once they got their they all got out the car and walked up to the place to be greeted by maddox's family. "we are so sorry for your guys loss" says maddy's father as maddy's mother nods her head in agreement along with the kids. "thank you so much we appreciate you all being here. you guys can head on in and find your seats we will see you in there" says mr batson. "maddy will you sit with me" maddox says. "yeah ofc" maddy says. "okay stay here with us maddy ur family can go take a seat" says mrs batson. "okay" maddy says standing next to maddox as they greet afew more people than head in.
once they sit down maddy is next to maddox and the funeral service starts. durring the survive maddox was bawling, it was hard to loose someone you love so much, maddy places a comforting hand on his back rubbing her thumb in circles as the leans her head onto his shoulder. "does anyone have any memories or story's the would like the share about our lost loved one" says the man who spoke in the front. maddox looks to maddy. "you got this" maddy says. "come with me" he says whipping tears. "okay" maddy says as they both stand from their chairs to go up to the microphone. "i would like to tell a recent story about my sister" maddox says as maddy interlocks their fingers bringing the boy comfort. "me and my bestfriend maddy were in the car on the way to go meet up with zach bryan, and she is always so supportive of.." maddox takes a pause sniffling back tears. "she was always so supportive of me and when she met maddy she instantly knew i needed someone like maddy by my side through all my accomplishments, my sister always said i found the best in people, but with maddy she said i found the best of my people" maddox says as he hugs maddy. "when i first met her i was for sure stressing out because well i was about to meet zach bryan and she wanted to teeze maddox so bad but respected that he was trying to help me with my nerves, and i know she will be painting the sky for us" maddy says before her and maddox head back to their seats
A little later when they all get to the celebration of life
"Maddox go around and greet ur family please you can bring maddy to if you want" says mr batson "okay cmon mads" Maddox says taking maddys hand in his "okay" maddy says with a small smile first maddox goes to his grandparents "hi grandma and grandpa" he says hugging both of them "hi maddox honey ! i've been wanting to see you too congradulate you on everything and on ur song writing" say his grandmother kissing his cheek leaving alittle bit of her light pink lipstick on his naturally rosey cheek. "hi maddox" says his grandfather hugging him "hi grandpops" he says hugging him back them pulling away "we need to go fishing again soon i've missed ya you've been so busy lately, i'll bring grandma you bring ur girlfriend" says his grandfather motion towards madeleine when he says girlfriend "oh maddys not my girlfriend me and her and just good friends" maddox tells his grandfather "yeah sure whatever you say, i'm maddox's grandfather it's nice to meet you maddy i'm sure we will be seeing a lot more of you" he says with a little chuckle shaking maddys hand "i'm maddox's grandmother and it is so amazing to meet you weve herd a lot about you !" says his grandmother hugging maddy as she hugs back "it's great to meet you both !" maddy says smiling "alr well we are gonna go greet some more family so we will see you guys around" maddox says taking maddys hand leading her to the table with aunts and uncles "hi maddox" says a man who looks around 25 "oh hey maddox" says the woman sitting next to the man who looks the same age as him "do we finally get to meet the famous maddy" laughs his uncle "oh stop teasing him, him heather it's nice to meet you" says the woman who's name is heather "i'm shawn we've herd about about you" shown says as heather and maddy hug "i'll good things i hope" maddy laughs and maddox does a little chuckle "yes all good things" heather chuckles "maddox u where right she's good for u" shawn whispers "i told u" maddox says back "so what are you guys" shawn questions "umm we are just friends" maddox says looking over at maddy "yeah" maddy agrees "not for long" mumbles shawn "yeah" heather giggles "we are gonna go see some other people but we will come back" maddox says throwing his arm over mandy's shoulder "okay bye kids" days shawn "bye guys stay warm it's cold" says heather
"okay i think we've talked to everyone i'm close with so now we gotta go to the awkward tables" says maddox "oh no" maddy giggles laying he head on maddox's shoulder while they walk sence he had his arm around her "ru cold" maddox questions because the girl just had on a dress "a little but i'm okay" maddy says "here take my coat" he says taking of his dress coat that had a long sleeve dress shirt under. "thanks maddox" maddy says pulling on the coat
after meeting a lot more of maddy family they went and sat back with shawn and heather who seemed to be maddox's favorite family members. maddox's and shawn were in a deep conversation about music and fishing, so heather and maddy were getting to know each other. "so maddy you met maddox on a flight right" asks heather "yeah i met him on my flight back home from filming the last season of a show" maddy says "oh wow i didn't know you acted what are you in" asks heather "i'm in a show called secrets of surfer springs, i'm in the black phone, and a few other things but those are my more popular films" maddy says "oh yes i've seen the black phone the acting is amazing that must be why you looked firmiliar" says heather.
"maddox did anyone tell you me and heather started planning our wedding" says shawn getting the girls attention too "oh that's so exciting" maddox says "we want you and maddy to possibly write us a song for our wedding" says heather "oh yeah we would love to" maddox says looking at maddy who smiles
