Youssef's POV
I woke up to the jarring sound of my alarm, the persistent beeping slicing through the tranquil silence of the early morning. Disoriented, I reached for my phone on the bedside table, squinting at the bright screen through sleep-blurred eyes. The digits glowed accusingly: 4:35 a.m. Panic surged through me as the realization hit—only fifteen minutes left until the end of Fajr."Shit," I muttered under my breath, throwing off the sheet from me and scrambling out of bed. My room was still shrouded in darkness, the faint light of dawn just beginning to creep through the edges of the curtains. The air was cool and crisp, a stark contrast to the warmth of my bed, and it prickled against my skin as I hurriedly grabbed my prayer clothes.
My heart pounded with urgency, a mixture of regret and determination fueling my movements. How could I have slept through my earlier alarms? The thought nagged at me as I hastily performed wudu, the icy water jolting me fully awake. Each splash felt like a reminder of the precious minutes slipping away, the quiet ticking of the clock a relentless countdown in my ears.
I rushed back to my room, the wooden floor creaking softly beneath my hurried steps. I spread out my prayer mat with trembling hands, taking a moment to center myself despite the urgency. The room was now bathed in a soft, pre-dawn glow, casting a serene light that contrasted with my racing thoughts.
As I stood in prayer, my heart began to calm, the familiar rhythm of the salah grounding me. Each recitation flowed with a newfound fervor, a silent plea for forgiveness for my tardiness and a promise to strive for better. The minutes stretched, each one filled with the solace of connection, the world outside fading into insignificance.
By the time I finished, the anxiety that had gripped me moments before had melted away, replaced by a profound sense of peace. I took a deep breath, savoring the quiet stillness that followed my prayer. The day was just beginning, and despite the rocky start, I felt a renewed determination to carry the tranquility of this moment with me.
As I rolled up my prayer mat and tidied my room, the first rays of the sun began to peek over the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink. It was a new day, and though it had begun in a rush, it now held the promise of grace and purpose.

At the breakfast table, the familiar clatter of utensils and the hum of morning conversations filled the air. My eyes, however, were preoccupied, scanning the room for a particular brown-eyed girl who had been occupying my thoughts incessantly. Her usual seat was conspicuously empty, causing a pang of disappointment to settle in my chest.
But then, I heard those unmistakable giggles, light and melodic, floating down the hallway. Without even turning, I knew who they belonged to. My heart quickened its pace as I looked towards the stairs. There she was, descending gracefully with Huda beside her, both of them sharing a private joke that made her eyes sparkle with laughter.
