Extended Summary

Jia Mancini and Reuben Finch had been best friends since they were 11.

Jia, always a daredevil, had disregarded all safety warnings she had been given and ended up falling. Luckily for her, Reuben had been right there, and unluckily for him, he had broken her fall.

Despite their initial meeting, Jia and Reuben had become fast friends. He was always there to catch her when she did something stupid, and she was always there to help him when he needed it.

Jump to high school, and suddenly, they aren't spending as much time together. Life starts to get in the way, as well as other people showing interest in our two young protagonists.

But when jealousy finally arises, feelings are announced that everyone but the two of them could see.

The childhood friends became high school sweethearts.

They stayed strong through college, despite the long distance. They stayed strong through Reuben entering the Navy and being away for months at a time. They stayed strong through Jia working her way into the Hollywood Stunt scene, making a career for herself through her daring schemes.

Through it all, they kept their love strong, even becoming engaged not too long after college.

So when Reuben gets recalled to Top Gun for a mission, Jia is determined to keep their love strong through this as well.

They will, don't you worry.

They just didn't expect to find a family along the way.

This fic was entirely inspired by the fact that Fall Guy is absolutely fantastic, and I loved it with my entire being.

It was also fate because the day I watched Fall Guy, the Lone Lobos podcast (Xolo Mariduena and Jacob Bertrand of Cobra Kai fame's Podcast) had posted their episode with the special guest being their stunt coordinator.
