Now, having gotten married at the courthouse, Jia and Reuben wanted to have a party to celebrate with their friends and family.

Setting up at the Hard Deck, the happy couple couldn't stop smiling. They had no problem doing the hard work for their party, having fun with planning it.

Penny smiled to the couple herself, having rented out her bar for the occasion. She was behind the bar itself, prepping all the alcohol they would need for the night.

Mickey and Benji walked in, carrying the cake and plates. "Where do you want them, boss?"

Jia gestures to a table towards the back. "Right on that table. Keep it covered for now."

After getting the last of the food set up, the two men assisted in the final decorations. It was certainly a sight to see, as they definitely didn't strike anyone as decor gurus.

But you'd be surprised just what they know and can do.

Phoenix certainly was, as she walked into the bar herself, a present in hand. "Wow, boys, this looks pretty good."

Jia smirked as all three men perked up like proud peacocks. Who knew stroking the design ego would get to them.

Reuben knew they couldn't take all the credit, though. "Jia is the true designer. She picked most of this out."

Phoenix and Jia laugh at that. "Oh, I know. I was her sounding board at times."

Soon enough, other people started to arrive.

Rooster and Maverick walked through the door, both complaining about Maverick's plane and the issues it's been having.

Jia and Reuben's families had been around for the past few days, so they were enjoying meeting and talking with the Dagger Squad.

Plenty of stunt people came as well, always happy for their friend and leader. Jia was well respected in her field, and many people loved her.

Once everyone had arrived and gotten some food, Reuben tapped a glass to get the room's attention.

"Thank you all for joining us today. We know it was a surprise when we announced we had finally gotten married, but at the courthouse. This has been a long time coming and I'm happy you can all celebrate this occasion with us."

Jia, wrapped up in Reuben's arms, echoed his sentiment. "The two of us have been together since we were seventeen. Never in our wildest imaginations did we think we could truly end up here. I know for a fact neither of us would change anything that brought us to this moment. So thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. It is truly a blessing to have everyone here tonight."

The crowd raised their glasses in cheer.

"To the happy couple!"
"We love you!"
"Here here!"

Turning to his wife, Reuben raised his own glass, ready to clink it to hers.

"To us."

Jia clinked the glasses.

"To our future."

They sealed it with a kiss, their friends and family erupting in cheers for the couple.

They might not have had a big wedding, but they had the perfect wedding for them.

The party and celebration after the fact were just the icing on the cake that was the start to a very long and happy life together.

The childhood friends had made it.

Their love would last forever.

Very short but they didn't really have a traditional wedding, so I just wanted to show a glimpse at their celebration party!
