For context, I must clarify the following points:

1. Unlike the show, Firuze is not a Persian spy. She used to be a highly regaded concubine in Suleiman's harem who fell out of grace with him but she's still particularly closer to Hatice and Ayse Hafsa in this fic. Pay attention to her and her eventual alliance with Milena, because if Milena is out for revenge against Suleiman, Firuze is out for revenge against Hürrem.

2. That being said, Milena obviously is not in love with Suleiman. Due to her upbringing and her family marrying politically for centuries, being married for love was an exception and not a common practice. Her past life plays a part of it too.

Firuze hatun took a little stroll along with her daughters in the gardens of Topkapi Palace, Mahpeyker who was already four years old, and Nilüfer who was two years old, the girls were still infants. Firuze took a stroll along with the maids assigned to her and her children before showing her respects to the Valide upon her return from Edirne. Taking a break away from Hürrem was a much-needed respite from her presence and spending time with her little daughters and seeing them grow so fast was one of the moments she cherished the most. Despite the redhead's disparaging remarks about her failure to provide Suleiman with a male heir, Firuze took immense pride in her daughters.

Firuze's story begins with her being a Persian concubine who became Hürrem's strongest rival during their time in Manisa. Firuze was sent to Prince Suleiman as a gift. She was born in Tabriz as an orthodox Christian commoner named Hümeyra. She was taken as a slave during one of the many Ottoman invasions in the East. Upon entering the prince's harem, her beauty quickly caught his eye. Hümeyra, tall, slim, and dark-eyed, became known soon not only for her physical beauty but also for her quiet and easy-going nature, which contrasted with Hürrem's extroverted and rebellious personality. After converting to Islam, she was given the name Firuze, which meant "turquoise", in order to highlight how beautiful and delicate she was, like a jewel. She was the very first woman to threaten Hürrem's privileged position in the harem before the arrival of Isabella and Milena, posing an actual challenge to the redhead, who obviously was not happy to share her man with another woman again.

Soon Firuze rose in prominence quickly after becoming friends with Hatice Sultan first and later gaining the favour of Suleiman's mother, which made more easier for her to get to know him better making them closer, despite Hürrem's chagrin and displeasure against Firuze for sharing the bed with Suleiman for years. Despite her jealousy towards the Persian concubine, luck was on the Ruthenian side anyway. Firuze managed to get pregnant three times by him, but she only gave birth to girls on her first and second pregnancies, and the third ended in a spontaneous abortion. Even if Suleiman loved his daughters dearly, the lack of male heirs made him and Firuze grow apart gradually and finally he stopped calling on her to his private chambers. He went back again to his other main favourite, Hürrem.

The rivalry between Hürrem and Firuze for Suleiman's affection was long dated since they were living in his harem when he was governor of Manisa. The most algid moment between both women happened when Hürrem found that Firuze was pregnant for the third time and out of rage, she attacked physically the Persian concubine to make her lose her unborn child because Hürrem couldn't afford Firuze to give birth to a boy someday, which would strengthen her position on his harem. That day, Firuze was found battered and unconscious in her private chambers by one of her maids who reported everything to Ayse Hafsa Sultan, who oversaw her son's harem back in Manisa. Firuze remembered little of the beating after she became unconscious from the vicious attack, but she remembered clearly that it was Hürrem who attacked her.
