It's been a hot minute since I last posted, but hopefully this will be worth the wait, as it introduces a couple of characters (Helena's bandmates), and follows up on the cliffhanger from the last part, though skipping a little time. Helena and Myra Jackson, the drummer for their band Claws/Teeth, arrived in time to the practice space Myra rented on 15th Street, as per usual. "Ugh," said Helena, "Graydon's an hour late AGAIN. What is his deal?"
"Yeah," agreed Myra, "It's not like he lives that far from here. I get he doesn't have a car, but all his equipment is here."
"One less thing he has to deal with," said Helena, "Since, you know..."
"I've been keeping his shit at my apartment," said Myra, "and I haul it over every practice."
"Exactly," Helena laughed.
"Well," said Myra, "Since we have time to kill, what do ya wanna do?"
"I guess play Tekken and listen to music?" Helena offered.
