Part 9: Helena Pops the Question

Dear Esteemed Readers/Heleniacs, 

It's been a bit, but a few updates - I have designed a few new characters, including Helena's mom, a side character named Lina Gibson, and Helena's assistant, Herman Liong. Lina will be in this chapter, and is one of Aja's friends. A note about her creation - myself and a fellow artist on Twitter, Lucian Erebus, had an exchange regarding his penchant for constantly creating new characters, and I half-jokingly challenged him to design a character based off of a speck of dust, and he met the challenge in spades. In return, he challenged me to design an anthro based on a calico cat, and Lina was the result. I don't make too much of her having cat features in this chapters, if at all, but this info is in the bio, and you will likely be familiar with her look if you follow me on Twitter (RealJakobVMusic, or seat "Varc Arts and Music" on Twitter). Finally, I have broken 820 followers, and am working on a big project to celebrate, featuring 14 or 15 others' OCs, so I'm excited. 

Anyway, this chapter is a big one - Helena and John are going to take a huge step in their relationship, and later chapters will springboard off of this. There will be also side stories, such as Helena meeting her niece, her and her band playing their EP release show, as well as Helena and Aja going on a girls' trip to Santa Cruz, so look forward to all that. Born and raised in Alaska, then moved to San Francisco, where he eventually became captain of a fishing boat called, "The Hammerhead." -Occupation: Commercial Fisherman/Captain of "The Hammerhead" -Hobbies/Interests: Studying marine biology, beard care, cars/driving, seafood, cooking, writing poetry, songwriting, playing guitar -Where does he live? Aja Harrison:-Basics: -Species: Red Salamanderwoman -Where is She From? She was born and raised in Mercer, Pennsylvania, but moved to the Bay Area because of an opportunity to get regular gigs with a prestigious jazz band, as well as to record music. She had a friend who knew an A&R rep at a jazz label, but the whole thing fell through, partially because there were tensions within the band that made Aja very uncomfortable. She left, but was able to gig occasionally with other groups in the area afterward. She is currently in San Francisco working under Marla Matoi. -Occupation: Dental Assistant at Marla Matoi, DDS; has a side gig playing and performing in various jazz bands, as well as selling her jewelry online -Favorite Music: Kamasi Washington, SZA, Snarky Puppy, Weather Report, Miles Davis, Nina Samone, Herbie Hancock, Louis Armstrong, Chuck Mangione, Tower of Power, Charles Mingus, Thelonius Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Steely Dan -Hobbies/Interests: Jazz (she loves Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis; newer acts include Snarky Puppy and Kamasi Washington), playing trumpet, entomology, jewelry-making/beadwork (she has an Etsy shop), going to museums, international folk arts (including traditional/indigenous tattooing if various regions), retro games -Where does she live?
