The sun blazed high in the sky, casting a warm glow over Beach City, where the day was filled with a sense of carefree energy. Down by the shoreline at "It's a Wash," a lively scene unfolded. Greg, Steven, and Y/n were hard at work, diligently washing the van parked in front of the Beach House. The van, with its striking image of Mayor Dewey, gleamed brightly under the afternoon sun, reflecting the trio's hard work and energy.
Greg, ever the enthusiastic father, stood by the van with a hose in hand, expertly spraying water over its surface. "Almost done!" he called out, his voice full of excitement. "Steven, get the hubcaps, and Y/n, help him out!"
Steven, eager to please, dropped to his knees and attacked the hubcaps with vigorous scrubbing, his face lighting up with determination. "Hubbing it up!" he shouted, working hard to make the van look spotless.
On the other side of the van, Y/n matched Steven's enthusiasm, her hands moving in swift, practiced motions as she polished the metal. "I've got the other side covered. Let's make this shine!" she called out, her voice filled with purpose.
Greg nodded in approval, inspecting their work with a practiced eye. "Hub it good! This is a high-profile job," he encouraged, grinning proudly.
Steven paused for a moment, a curious look crossing his face. "You mean 'cause it's the mayor's election-mobile?"
Greg's smile widened at the thought. "Exactly! If we do this right, we might even get some political favors!"
Y/n, ever the practical one, chimed in with a nod. "Having political favors is a good thing to have."
Steven, though still a bit puzzled, found himself intrigued by the idea. "I'm not sure what that is, but I like it!" He grinned, grabbing a nearby hose and eagerly turning it on, ready to help.
As Steven swung the hose around, a large arc of water sprayed over the van and caught Greg, who burst into laughter. Without a second thought, Greg retaliated, spraying Steven right back, and soon, a full-blown water fight erupted. Y/n dodged the sprays, her laughter ringing out as she joined the fun by spraying both Greg and Steven.
The cheerful chaos caught the attention of Mayor Dewey, who strolled into view, his presence commanding yet mixed with amusement. "Hey, hey, hey! I'm not paying for father-son bonding and uncle-niece bonding here!" he called out, his tone a playful mix of mock-annoyance.
Before anyone could respond, Steven accidentally turned the hose toward Mayor Dewey, soaking him from head to toe. The mayor's eyes widened in surprise as water dripped from his face. "Universe! Control that kid!" he shouted, though the hint of amusement was clear in his voice.
Greg quickly scooped Steven up into a playful hug, laughing as he apologized. "Steven! Hehe, I'm sorry, Mayor Dewey. Hehehe, this one's on the house!"
The mayor looked at his now-damp van and chuckled. "On the house, eh? I like the way you do business, Universe." With a nod of approval, he climbed into the van, and as he drove off, the siren on top of the vehicle chimed his name, leaving a trail of dust behind.
Y/n watched the van disappear into the distance, letting out a sigh. "Well, we tried."
Steven, ever the optimist, wiggled his fingers enthusiastically. "Political favors!"
Greg chuckled, shaking his head fondly. "Ahh, you rascal!" He ruffled Steven's hair affectionately, giving him a playful noogie. "Enough with the hose fights!"
Y/n grinned, taking a step back. "Yeah, I don't want to get too soaked."
But just as she spoke, both Greg and Steven were unexpectedly doused with another splash of water. Greg turned in surprise, his eyes widening as he spotted a mischievous purple cat holding a running hose in its mouth.
