Scarletts pov

Today was the day we were in court for the lawsuit against the school and i was confident that we were going to win anyways because we had a strong case but i hated the fact that Lily had to go on the stand and tell them what happened and everything because i know she hated talking about it, last night she cried herself to sleep in my arms and my heart broke all i wanted was my little girl to be safe and for life to be more fair to her

We are currently sitting outside the courthouse in the car, I told Colin to go and talk to the lawyers whilst i stayed with Lily as i was waiting for her to snap out of her trance which she has after panic attacks, i stayed in the back with her head on my chest and i was stroking her hair

"Its okay baby i promise ill be with you the whole time okay" i spoke to her trying to blink back my own tears, i hated seeing her like this because she doesnt deserve any of this at all and i feel her nod against my chest

We sit like this for a couple more minutes before i fix some of her makeup at has smudged and we walk into the courthouse hand in hand, she goes to her dad and stays hugged into his side as i speak to the our lawyer about the things they will bring up so i can warn Lily before we go in so she is prepared and once that was all sorted it was time for us to come in and we sat at the table

I sat with the lawyer on my right as Lily sat on my left next to Colin so she was in between us and her hands were shaking a lot, i knew she was nervous about this whole thing but she understood the quicker we got this sorted the quicker we can go home and we can do whatever she wanted

Lilys pov

I was panicking but i knew what kind of questions the lawyer would ask me from our side, the thing that was worrying me was i didnt know what things the schools lawyer would ask, when we got seated i saw the principal on the other side with a few of the people who were on the school's board talking with a lawyer and it was making me even more scared as he kept eye contact with me

After a few more minutes the judge banged his gravel to the desk and called us all to rise, i kept hold of Moms hand as we stood and i looked behind me to see Lizzie and Chris were sitting on one of the benches and i was grateful they were here for me during this

"Mrs Gester do you have any evidence to show?" the judge asked our lawyer and she gave us a little smile before standing up infront of everyone and i see the video on the little screen in front of everyone, i keep my eyes on my lap not wanting to see it again after mom said they removed it from the internet but i guess they had to keep a copy for court

"As you can see in this video the defendant Lily Johansson Jost was physically assaulted in the grounds of the school where there should have been a hallway monitor observing, the school wasnt even notified on what happened until the end of the school day when Lilys mother came and talked with the principal" she started and i smiled a little on how confident she was with her words and it made me feel a little better with this

"Let me show evidence 1b of the bruises my client had sustained during this attack" she spoke grabbing a file of what i presume was the bruises on my back which are slowly fading now, as she showed the file to the judge i see his face fall as he looked at me and gave me a sad smile and he nodded before Mrs Gester moved away and showed the jury the pictures

After a few more minutes of speaking she told the judge she was done for now and the schools side had no questions on anything so it was their time to talk, i see a middle aged old man who stood up and stood infront of everyone

"My client Mr James Carter principal at LA grove high school is a respected member of his community and he claims he was not aware of any of these incidents that may have happened" he spoke and i felt my hand shaking again as it was a clear lie i spoke to him so many times about the issues and he told me he couldnt do anything about it
