Chapter 1

"Beh, totoo ba?? You got it???" Her friend excitedly jumped into her as she squealed in the happiness. She raised her eyebrow at her and hugged the book she's holding seemingly protecting it from her friend.

Red is a first year college student and a member of their school journalism team, she is smart and friendly, a real sunshine of the people around her. And that is her friend, Mina, who just lives by the next door. "Of course i got it ano!" Red confidently said with a smirk on her face.

"Can i borrow itttt?" Her friend excitedly asked her.

"Nope you can't, it's confidential"

"Butttt--"

"No buts, heh! Nag promise na akong diko ipapahiram ito ano! You just read my report next time! Sige na! It's getting late uwi ka na maya-maya andito na yung roommate ko" she said shooing away her friend, she's trying her best not to smile because the girl is also pouting "sama naman neto, hmph"

At the end, the girl couldn't do anything and just went back to her apartment after a few chitchat with her friend.

After Mina went home, the girl cooked for her dinner, as she fried some chicken on the kitchen counter, she heard footsteps coming towards her.

"What's for dinner?" The lady behind her asked. She giggled when she heard her roommate behind her coming home from her part time job.

"Nako madam, manuk hu" she answered her with the thick accent just to annoy her. One thing about her roommate that she anjoys is her annoyed face, she just likes to see that creased on her forehead.

The lady rolled her eyes "Whatever, stoney" she said that made the girl raise her eyebrow. "Stoney?? Really, tag-init?"

"Yeah, suits you well"

"For your information, i'm a valuable stone, and it's Red for you"

"Yeah, sure, stoney"

"Ewan ko sayo"

Summer chuckled after that, they teased each other until they finished making dinner, they eat their dinner in silence while savoring the food they prepared.

It's 10 in the evening and they parted ways into their own rooms, Red sat on her bed and looked at her table. She saw the book lying there.

Basa muna ako isang chapter lang before matulog.

She said to herself and reached the book, she fixed herself under the blanket while resting her back at the bed frame. She took a deep breath and opened the first page.

'Chapter 1'

I finally had the strength to cut the strings that held me by the neck for almost a year,
A relationship that ruined me mentally and emotionally

A relationship that drained me, used the best out of me, and left me with nothing, I finally reached that point where I'm too tired to even fight back... To defend the irrational reasons i used to fight for.

I gave up.

People pleasers live in pleasing everyone, I love her so i please her, and that's how it revolved in our relationship, i admit, it was happy, but as time goes by, it hurts more than it makes me happy. How ironic making a person my whole world.

In the midst of my messed up mind, where i feel like i'm in a place where all the people are looking at me with judgement, i'm running away straight into nowhere, i didn't know i'd find myself in someone's arms.

"Ate Amari..." I weakly muttered her name as i let her arms wrap around me. The clock strikes to 10 in the evening, you'll hear no noise around except for the clock ticking.
