A crescent moon failed to lift the darkness of the night
Though tried and tried, as hard as he mightThough in the night sky, he seemed beautiful among all
Though even in the black, he didn't fail to enthrallOn the dark background, as if a smile
He rose a bit earlier, and stood for a whilePartly covered by a cloud, complemented by a star
Gazed at his dear earth, from the sky afarFrom whatever little strength, foster would he
Illuminate the earth he did, so that she could seeAnd such was their love, that even as he waned
The earth was all he thought of, till his last breath sustainedAnd the love among the two, would always me remind
Though engulfed in the dark, the stars he left behind-Sahil Dinkar
