MATT RUNS HIS FINGERS THROUGH his hair, feeling the weight of exhaustion in every movement. leaning against the kitchen counter, he reaches for the glass of water, the cool liquid providing a brief moment of relief.
suddenly, a hushed exclamation from behind startles him. "what the fuck!" chris's voice breaks the silence of the early morning.
taking a deep breath, matt turns to face his brother. "what now, chris?"
"it's 3am! why are you down here?" chris's annoyance is evident in his whispered question.
matt gestures towards the glass besides him. "i needed a drink, obviously."
chris chuckles before his tone becomes more serious. "what's going on with you, matt?"
startled by the unexpected question, matt tries to play it cool. "what's going on with me? nothing's going on with me."
chris groans in frustration. "you took that girl—"
