VIVIENNE'S FOREHEAD WAS FIRMLY NESTLED AGAINST HOPE'S SHOULDER, seeking comfort and solace. she had taken a risk by running away to hope's place after narrowly escaping kai. despite rio bombarding her with frantic calls and texts, she couldn't bring herself to even check them, knowing that they would likely be demanding and intense.
thankfully, she knew that rio would never show up at hope's house. with hope's protective nature, he wouldn't even make it past the driveway. this provided vivienne with a safe haven, at least for the time being, shielded from the fear of being caught. however, the thought of running into rio on the way to school still haunted her.
the mere idea of also encountering matt at school filled her with dread. just thinking about being in his presence made her feel physically ill. she couldn't understand why he would betray her. they had both upheld their end of the deal, so why would he suddenly break it with no explanation?
in an effort to pull herself out of her distressing thoughts, she blinked several times, inadvertently releasing the tears that had been welling up in her eyes.
