16: Please Stay

Jura : Colonel Lianari. You wanted to meet me ?

Lianari: yes.

Jura ; how can I help you ?

Lianari: I think General Bino is being framed. I have a signed statement from a soldier that worked in his army.

Jura : what ? You're not here for your own matter ?

Lianari: listen to what I have to say first.

Jura listened to her story after she explained why she think it may be the same person.

Jura ; that's not enough to show that this Red Secret is the one behind it. And as you said , if Red Secret is just an agency for doing dirty things. Then you don't have the mastermind.

Lianari: then instead help prove General Bino's innocence

Jura: Colonel Lianari. That case was done by Mr Anderson. I have no right to re-open his case.

Lianari: but I have reasonable doubt.

Jura : this case was reported back to the emperor. If you want to re-open this case , you have to ask the emperor for permission. There's also something else you need to consider.

Lianari: that is ?

Jura : who is the mastermind behind General Bino's framing ? If you're going to re-open the case.

Lianari:.... I don't know. But at least I know he's being framed.

Jura ; this would be enough for me. It wouldn't be enough for the emperor. You're asking him to admit mistake.

Lianari: .... I have a better idea... Thanks for this conversation.

Jura ; no problem.

Lianari: Jin. I have a favour.

Jin ; Yuri is here too.

Yuri ; I need your help.

Jin : for ?

Lianari: I want to invite the emperor to our house. There's a tiny chance he may get angry cos of this and in the end get angry at you.

Yuri ; she's doing it for me. For my father.

Jin ; Yuri. Could you leave us alone for a while ?

" Sure. " And Yuri left the two alone. She closed the door behind her.

Jin ; this is not a favour. This is a notice. Isn't it?

Lianari : kind of. Why do you sound angry ? I'm helping Yuri.

He grabbed her chin and looked into her eyes . She wasn't afraid of those cold eyes.

Jin : clear her father's name. Then what ?

Lianari: then you two can...

Jin : why don't you want to stay ?

Lianari; all dreams must end. I'm stubborn... What's mine is mine... We missed the chance to be each other's. That's all it is.

He lets go of his grab and hugged her " you're a little liar. "

Lianari: Jin... Let go...

Jin : why do you always push me away.

Lianari: we've had those nights. What are you talking about ?

Jin ; the baby. Lia. You wanted me to leave for a better position. So you never told me about the baby you had. You didn't want me to stay . For the baby. Or for you.

Lianari: how did you know...

Jin : I saw the birth certificate... Then I asked Tarae.

Lianari: that traitor.

Jin : Tarae said our child died drinking a poisoned beverage that was meant for your father.

Her tears start to fall and she starts to cry " he was only five..."

Jin ; why didn't you tell me ?

She pushed him away " you're meant for bigger things. Father told me you're meant for it. Then... I was pregnant... " She cries harder and collapsed onto the floor . " I either let you go , or have you stay."

Jin ; .... And you decided to let me go.

Yuri was at the manor that night " what happened? I heard her cry. "

Jin ; .... Remember I told you about our baby ?

Yuri ; oh... Actually... Couldn't she have gone with you ? With the baby

Jin : the place I transferred to as a Major General then was a living hell. Even the nearest village has already been evacuated. It was very dangerous. Hundreds are injured every day. Just by existing there , you can become collateral damage.

Yuri ; you were stationed at Mare Gate ?

Jin ; I forgot you're a General's daughter. You would know the place.

Yuri ; heard of it. Nobody wants to be transferred there voluntarily

Jin : so I understand if she didn't want to raise a child there.
