Love or Lie?

Yeah, it's been a while since I was active. I lost interest in writing until I had the idea for this story and decided to write again. I won't continue the other fanfictions, this is supposed to be a fresh start (however I kept the oneshots since they are completed) and this time I will try to finish a story before starting another. Enjoy reading!

-Pacifica's Pov-

I woke up. I was still lying in bed with my eyes closed. I rolled around, trying to find sleep once again but it was hopeless. The alarm clock on my smartphone started to play a generic melody. I opened my eyes, sat up and reached for my phone to turn the alarm off.

I stood up and walked to my wardrobe to pick some clothes and went to the bathroom to freshen up myself and to get dressed. I decided to wear a pink top, blue wide leg jeans with a brown belt and brown boots. Pink was my favorite color, literary everything in my bedroom was pink. The only exceptions were the furniture and some of my clothes. I also put on a shooting star necklace which I got from the last time I visited my cousin Gideon. I made a ponytail and took one final look in the mirror. I nodded and smiled and then left the bathroom.

I went downstairs to eat breakfast with my parents. I walked into the dining room and my mom greeted me:"Good moring honey! Sit down, I made pancakes!","Ooh, my favorite!" I said excited and sat down. Mom put a plate with a bunch of pancakes sitting on it right before me. I ate quickly and went upstairs again to pack my bag.

I went downstairs again to say goodbye to my parents. They pulled me in a hug and both said:"We are going to miss you so much!"," It's okay, I'm not leaving forever." I responded slightly amused and pated their backs. Mom and then let go of me. Dad then said:"And sorry we aren't able to be there for your 18th brithday.","That's also fine, you two were there for my first 17 birthdays. I think I can survive one without you." I said and dad asked:"But will I survive it?","Oh dad." I said smiling, rolling my eyes and then hugging him once more for a couple of seconds. When I let go dad said:"But promise me to be careful.","I will." I said with confidence. I walked through the door and waved and said:"See you at the end of the summer, byyeee!","Byyee!" My parents responded, my dad even cried.

I walked to the bus station, luckly I was there in time. I got in the bus and it started driving. I sat down in the last row, the bus was completly empty. I pulled out my phone and played a game. After like 20 minutes I decided to watch the latest episode of my favorite show, it was about a girl who landed in a strange world full of witches and demons. She also has to fight an evil emperor. I plugged in my head phones and started watching.

Hours passed and as I looked out of the window I saw a familiar forest. 'I finally arrived.' I thought relieved. The bus stopped and I stood up, grabbed my bag and walked out of the bus. Several people were waiting for me. A man in a black suit with a white shirt and red bowtie. He also wore brown shoes, a red fez and had brown hair. This was my uncle Bud Gleeful. Next to him was a woman with light brown hair who wore a green dress and black shoes. That was my aunt Susan. Infront of them was a boy with brown hair who wore a blue shirt, dark blue vest and grey shorts with black shoes. This was my cousin Gideon. I was immediatly pulled in another group hug. They said all sorts of things like:"We are glad you are back.", "It's been so long." and so forth. They let go and aunt Susan said:"Look at you, how much you have grown. You look so much like your mother when she was your age, so pretty.","Aww, thank you." I said flattered. Susan was the sister of my mom. Uncle Bud then said:"Alright, let's head back to the Shack. It's getting late." and then everyone got into uncle Bud's car and we drove to the Shack. Uncle Bud turned his house into a tourist attraction called 'The Mystery Shack' but the only mystery was why people even came. The attractions were obviously fake, tho I have to admit that this place has a certian charm. We arrived and went inside.

Gideon showed me the guest room. He left and I unpacked my bag. When I was done Gideon opened the door and said:"Dinner is ready.","Oh, okay." I said and we walked downstairs. I asked Gideon:"So, you're still into those conspiracy theories?","Those aren't 'conspiracy theories', something strange is going on in this town." He answered looking around. I chuckled and replied:"Yeah, heard that million times before.","You will see, one day." He said. I laughed and said:"Yes we will all see.", I continued to laugh. "Alright, that's enough." He said annoyed. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry. Who knows? Maybe you are right." I said while padding his shouder. We sat down at the table in the kitchen and ate spaghetti. Uncle Bud asked:"So Pacifica, would you mind to sometimes help out in the gift shop?","Oh no, not at all. I'm glad to help where it's possible." I answered. Aunt Susan said:"Good, I sometimes have the feeling that Robbie is barely doing anything.","Oh, come on mom. Robbie isn't that lazy." Gideon said while slightly blushing. "If you say so." Susan said with a smug smile which led to Gideon blushing more. I tried to help Gideon out by drawing the attention to me and asked:"Who is Robbie?","Robbie is a boy I hired to work in the gift shop. He should be around your age." Bud answered. I nodded and continued to eat.

After I finished I went upstairs and got changed. I brushed my teeth and went to sleep. I had a dream. Everything was black until I saw a yellow triangle and heard a maniacal laugh. I opened my eyes and sat up quickly. I breathed heavily and looked around, it was already morning. I grabbed my phone to look what time it was, it was six o'clock. I groaned and l laid down in bed again. I wanted to sleep for a couple more hours but I couldn't. I laid down in bed awake for the next two hours. I finally stood up and went to the bathroom to shower, after that I got dressed and headed downstairs for breakfast. Uncle Bud asked:"Pacifica would you please help Gideon hang up some signs in the woods?","But dad, the woods are scary." Gideon said. Aunt Susan said:"Oh no, I need Pacifica to pick up some groceries in town.","Well, perhaps Robbie will help Gideon out." Bud said. After the breakfast Susan handed me a list and gave me money. "You can use the golf cart to drive to the town." She said and handed me the keys.

I drove to the town and decided to stop at the mall first. I walked inside and it looked almost the same as 4 years ago. I wanted to look for some clothes and walked past a strange boy. He had brown hair with a white streak and turquoise eyes. He wore a blue button down shirt, black pants and black shoes. He also wore this strange amulet. He was staring at me, his eyes began to glow and I suddenly had an headache. I ran away, looking back to see if he follows me and I acciedently ran into another person.

-Gideon's Pov-

I walked into the gift shop and saw Robbie. He asked:"Sup Gid?","Oh h-hi Robbie." I stuttered and felt my cheeks getting warm. Robbie was sitting cash register, his legs lying on the table. Robbie was a tall boy with black hair, pale skin with acne. He wore a green plaid shirt, dark blue skinny jeans and grey boots with mud on them. My dad walked in and asked:"Robbie, would you be so nice and help Gideon hanging up those signs in the woods?","I would but I can't reach them." Robbie said while stretching his arm out to the them. I chuckled and dad rolled his eyes. "Just kidding Mr. Gleeful, of course I'll help Gideon." Robbie said. "Very well then." Dad said happly while handing both of us some signs, hammers and nails.

We walked into to woods and Robbie said:"Okay, you will go there." and pointed to a bunch trees on the left and said:"And I will go there." and pointed at the right. I nodded and we started. Everything went normal until I wanted to hang up the last sign. The tree made strange sounds, I touched it and suddenly a hatch opended. An old radio was inside. I tried to turn it on and then another hatch in the ground, inside was a old book covered in dust and cobwebs. I blew the dust off to see what it looks like. The book was blue and had a silver six-fingered hand with a three written on it in the middle. It also had silver corners and was damaged a bit. I put it down on the gras and opened it. I flipped through the pages, it contained information on all sorts off strange creatures and anomalies that are supposed to be here in the forest. Then there was a page that said 'TRUST NO ONE!',"Trust no one." I repeated. I closed the book, looked around and put it in my vest. I hung up the last sign and went back to Robbie who has barley hung up any signs. "H-hey, you n-need any help?" I asked nervously. "Oh, you're already done?" Robbie asked. I answered:"Yeah, s-sure.","Okay, you can help me then." He said. We hung up the remaining signs and walked back to the Shack. I was in utterly disbelieve that I finally found proof for the strange anomalies in this town...

That was the first chapter, I hope you liked it. In case you're wondering why Gideon's hair is brown, I did this because according to a blacklight message from the official Journal 3 the mystic amulet turns the hair of the user white. Gideon is also two years younger than Pacifica like in the show. That will be it for now, bye!
