Digital Deities: WORLD OF REIN.

Chapter Eight: "Jeez, she talks a lot!"

Date: December 5th, 2099

"And that's why I think it's a god from another world!"

Stella exclaims, her excitement now dying down after going on a very, very long rant about a simple question that Selene asked. Stella looks over at Noah, who's been engrossed in what she was talking about the entire time, which makes her smile, seeing him with his hands together, calm and collected.

"Hmm... Ya know, I'm kinda inclined to believe this theory!" Noah says with a warm smile on his face, making Stella blush from seeing him actually invested in what she said, which isn't always the norm for her.

However, things couldn't be said the same for Selene, who's laying her head flat on the table, completely burned out after having to listen to that nearly hour-long conspiracy theory. Noah looks to his side and finally notices how Selene is laid out, and quickly pokes her head, in hopes that Stella doesn't take offense to it.

"h-huh?!" Selene snaps her head up quick, and takes a quick glance at both Noah and Stella. And now noticing how rude she must've looked, she sits up straight, and smiles as she looks up at Stella, who's still eyeing Noah.

"Uh, right!" Selene scoots closer to Noah, and puts her hands together, acting as if she was invested at all. "V-very interesting theory, man."

Stella looks over to Selene, and pouts. "Selene... A few minutes into what I was saying, you were already drooling on the table." Stella suddenly states, making Selene look at the table and notice the sticky feeling on her cheek, which makes her feel even more embarrassed.

"There's no need to act."

Noah snickers a bit, clearly amused at Selene getting caught in such an embarrassing position, especially at her bright red blush. Selene gets annoyed at this, and suddenly pinches Noah's side, making him jump in his seat.

"H-hey! Sorry, but it was funny!" Says Noah, the pinch making him realize how embarrassed Selene was, but both Noah and Selene's attention is pulled to the random flash of blue light near Stella. It was Digital's eyes, glowing back open as he glances over at Stella, letting out an exaggerated sigh before joining in with the rest.

"Okay, what are we talking about now?" He asks Stella, who looks a bit surprised that digital would even ask, considering that he just shut off the second she started talking.

"Well if you'd like to know, then I was just-"

"And that is all, Stella."

He suddenly interrupts, making her freeze in place before crossing her arms, and turning away, simply ignoring him now. But digital stands up, and puts his hand on the table, magically taking control of the built-in screen and showing a picture in the middle of the screen, catching both Noah and Selene's undivided attention.

"Because these two need their info. So, These are the things you will both be facing out there..."

Digital states, showing them something that, to say the very least, terrifies them.

In the middle of the table is a picture of what seems to be multiple people, gathered around a destroyed building, and in very odd poses. But a closer inspection says otherwise, as they see that the "people" have completely white pupils, some of them having pieces of bone sticking out of their arms, legs or chest, with a particular woman having a rib poking out of her chest, which makes Selene gag.

But before they can both throw up, digital closes the image away, putting his hands together in front of him as he looks at them both with a stern, cold face.

"Don't gag now. There is more to learn."

Some time later....

Digital finally takes over the conversation, and explains the severe situation that his world is in at the moment, which is hopefully not a lost cause. He tells them about how the world was so integrated with technology, that technically every person on earth had an implanted chip in their brains, which solved many mental diseases in the world.

But this is what inevitably made Rein's takeover as catastrophic as it was. After a major unknown hacker group got ahold of Rein's artificial brain, they fed him only negative, hateful, and destructive info, as well as locking that info, making it the only thing he'd know when he was complete.

But the worst part of it, was that they gave him full access to the servers of the company that made the world-renowned brain implants. So, in the first week of the super android being revealed to the public, he took control of every single human, making them his armada of mind-controlled zombies, using them to destroy everything humanity built in simply ten years.

Digital believes that Rein is still out there, and simply in hiding, and he believes that he's most definitely in this specific city. And with Noah and Selene helping with the lookout, being scouts for Stella and Digital. They'll be trained on how to use weapons for the zombies, be given

the gear required to survive out there, and hopefully, mentally prepared once, or if, they find Rein. He warns them both that this will not be easy, but they're both ready, though Selene's extremely nervous about this. With Digital's warnings, he also warns them that there's at least a few dozen survivors out there, proven by flashing lights, guns going off, and motorcycles out in the city, and digital warns the pair to be wary of these people, if they were to meet them out there.

Now, minutes after this talk...

"Well, are you both feeling alright? Ready to do this?"

Digital's eyes are glowing bright, just as they were when he started talking, showing how excited he is to finally have the help to beat Rein! Hopefully!

But for the first time during this entire day, Noah looks nervous... Nervous that he won't be able to do this, or that he'll be too weak, but he's mostly nervous about having a partner. Noah's always done great by himself, but the thought of needing Selene to go with him makes him a bit, uneasy...

But nonetheless, he clears his throat, and answers Digital's question quite confidently,

"Y-yup, we're ready"
