"w-what? How?"
Noah thinks to himself, with a confused expression on his face. He died. He was in a puddle of his own blood! What's going on? This feeling of confusion is then mixed with fear as he feels the physical world, and it's touch, return to him again. This, for some reason, makes him sad. But he sits up, rubs his eyes, and sees that he's now in a completely white room, with no windows or door, and a white bed. Even his clothes are different, now wearing a white shirt, and white shorts.
But as he looks to the other side of the bed, there's a person there with him! His body jolts from the sight, and he falls off the bed. He then picks himself up, and looks at the person. He can't tell who this girl is, but that isn't the concern at the moment. The real question is, what is this place?
Could this be the afterlife everyone's promised in death? Is this some weird, heavenly waiting room? Noah's mind is running wild with thoughts as he walks around the room, and examines it. He walks up to the colorless walls, and touches it, but can't tell what the walls are made of. Is it steel? Titanium? Metal? Whatever it is, it's strong, and sleek to the touch.
While he's doing this, the young lady wakes up, looks around, and gets up from the bed. Yet, Noah doesn't notice this, and continues looking at this wall, studying the weird marks on it with his hand on his chin. The markings look weird, but they seem like a language of some sorts, carved into the wall.
The young girl walks up slowly, and taps Noah's shoulder, and greets him with a nonchalant, "Hey."
"AHH!"
Noah screams, jumps back from the sudden tap, and looks at the girl, surprised by them walking up to him like that. But, he collects himself quick, now a bit embarrassed by how he reacted, and smiles."Um, H-Hey. Sorry, you just spooked me."
Noah notices the girl is close to laughing, and snorts by accident from holding back her laughter.
"Hey, it's okay!" She says in a calm tone, and offers her hand to shake with a smile. "I'm Selene. And you are?"
Noah relaxes himself, now seeing that this person is most likely probably not a threat in this weird predicament they're in. So, he shakes their hand, and answers their question.
"M-my name's Noah. It's nice to meet you, Selene."
"Likewise." She lets go of Noah's hand, walks over to the bed, and sits down. "Now, let's cut to the chase. This isn't a dream, right?"
This question throws Noah off, since he doesn't have a clue of what's happening at all, but a dream is not what he thinks it is. After all, he was just dead a second ago, so if anything, this must be an afterlife of some sorts, right?
"Uhhh, no?" Noah says in a very confused tone as he keeps looking around the room, intrigued by the weird carvings.
"There's definitely an explanation for why we're here, but a dream isn't one of them."
Selene watches as he looks around, finding it funny that he's so interested in the carvings, that he won't even look at her. But this quiet time comes to a halt when all of the sudden, a faint hum starts to fill the room. It starts off quiet. But then, it gets a bit louder. Then, a beam of light comes from the wall, exaclty where Noah was standing, which causes him to back up quickly, now standing near the bed. The light starts to calm down, and now there's a big, door shaped hole in the wall. They both stare at this hole, wondering if they should move.
But to their shock, the makeshift door starts to slowly open, which makes them both terrified of what could possibly be on the other side. Noah starts to back up more, now sitting on the bed with Selene, waiting for whatever may be on the other side. As the door opens completely, out comes a man, but his appearance is what shocks them both to their very core.
