As we reach the fourth and final stages of healing, which will include three to four parts plus an epilogue, let's reflect on the journey so far.

Previously, over the course of nearly a year, Suna began her journey at rock bottom. In the beginning, she was an open wound, bleeding and broken, the pain and suffering visible only to her. She compared herself to others in the big house, seeing how their lives were moving forward while she felt stuck and lifeless. Even as she travelled to London, she remained an open wound, trying to understand Kaya in the hope that they were similar, but she couldn't find that common ground.

Then came the second stage: the Inflammatory Phase, or Purulence. This phase begins shortly after hemostasis or bleeding. During this time, white blood cells, primarily neutrophils and macrophages, migrate to the wound site to fight off infection and clear away debris. The area may become red, swollen, and warm due to increased blood flow.

Similarly, Suna experienced her own inflammatory phase. She even tried to persuade and seduce Kaya to get back together, not for the sake of love, but more for personal gain and survival. In this phase, she didn't care about humiliation or her dignity, just as the body prioritizes defence over discomfort during inflammation.

She also compared herself to Kaya, noticing how he seemed to be in better shape, at a higher level of healing, while she remained stuck, perhaps even worse off. Her low self-esteem, fears, and unresolved Oedipal issues plagued her like pus needing to be expelled from her mind and system.

Kaya, on the other hand, had already bled and purged his own wounds. He had moved past the inflammatory phase and entered the third stage months ago after their divorce.

The third stage of Suna's marked the beginning of her healing journey, known as the Proliferative Phase or Tissue Rebuilding, which involved the formation of new tissue. During this phase, fibroblasts played a crucial role in producing collagen, which provided strength to the new tissue. Angiogenesis occurred, leading to the formation of new blood vessels, and epithelial cells began to cover the developing tissue.

This phase symbolized Suna's opportunity to make decisions that would start a new life for herself—a fresh beginning away from anything that caused her pain or hindered her progress.

During this phase, Suna embraced the chance to rebuild her emotional and mental strength. She made deliberate choices to distance herself from past hurts and negative influences, focusing instead on nurturing her own well-being and growth. Each step she took towards healing was a testament to her resilience and determination to carve out a brighter future for herself.

As Suna navigated through this stage, she found herself gradually shedding the weight of self-doubt and insecurity that had plagued her for so long. The process was not without challenges; there were moments of doubt and hesitation, but with each new day, she felt stronger and more empowered. She surrounded herself with positivity and supportive influences, gradually replacing old wounds with renewed hope and purpose.

The journey was about reclaiming her sense of self-worth and inner peace. Suna learned to celebrate small victories along the way, recognizing each moment of growth as a testament to her courage and resilience.

As Kaya re-entered Suna's life during this phase of her healing journey, she had refrained from initiating contact before, respecting his apparent distance and grappling with her own feelings of shame and regret. Yet, when he unexpectedly knocked on her door, checking in on her well-being, she saw an opportunity to reconnect and harboured a flicker of hope for their relationship to reignite. And to her delight, it did.

For Kaya, his actions were driven partly by a sense of duty and responsibility. He had intervened to convince Suna's brother-in-law to leave her in London to start her life, motivated both by his lingering feelings for her and his inherent nature to assist those in need.

Upon visiting Suna at her home, to check on her, Kaya immediately noticed a profound shift in her personality and attitude. The once fragile and uncertain woman had transformed into someone more confident and composed. When she invited him to dinner, Kaya hesitated momentarily, unsure of how to navigate their past and the complexities of their relationship. However, as they spent time together and he learned about her commitment to self-improvement and seeking medical help, he couldn't help but be drawn to this new version of her.

Her newfound strength and resilience stirred up old feelings within him, reigniting a sense of attraction and enchantment that had lain dormant. Despite his initial hesitation, Kaya found himself increasingly captivated by the woman Suna had become, paving the way for a potential rekindling of their feelings and a hopeful future together.

As they approach the fourth and final stage of healing, the Maturation (or Remodeling) Phase, both Kaya and Suna will find themselves strengthening and refining their new beginnings and relationships. Just as collagen fibres reorganize and mature to increase the strength of healed tissue, their bond will evolve through introspection, communication, and mutual growth.

They will continue to work on resolving past wounds and building trust, allowing their relationship to contract and become more aligned with their shared aspirations and values. This stage will mark a pivotal moment in their journey toward a more resilient and harmonious future together.

The final stage chapters will be uploaded next week. Enjoy!

 Enjoy!
