Recap from Part 3:
"Shhhh, I'm here, you're okay," Nick spoke for only Chris to hear.
Nick watched Chris' shakiness subside and the youngest instead started to fidget with the drawstrings on Nick's hoodie. He twirled the hanging strings between his fingers, humming through broken whines as he did.
♡ "Chris, do you want your mom to help you up onto the table?" Doctor Kane asked in a light tone.
She seemed sweet, just like Nurse Tammy was. Although, Chris couldn't appreciate her demeanour, he was too focus in on what was about to happen. He wanted to refuse care, to run away and hide, anything to avoid what sounded like the worst possible procedure the hospital had to offer.
Chris was still sat on Nick's lap. He was curled into his brother, angled sideways, with his legs dangling and his head buried into Nick's shoulder. He shook his head slowly in response to Doctor Kane. He put his finger in his mouth, biting at his nail and avoiding her question.
"C'mon sweetheart, I'll help you okay? Marylou jumped in, her voice was soothingly sweet, "everything's okay baby,"
Marylou started to move closer to her two sons. She stood close to the same height as Chris sitting on Nick's lap. She placed a hand in the youngest's hair, brushing through the strands.
"Hunny, I'll help you up to the table okay?" She mentioned again.
Chris whined lowly, ultimately allowing her to help him to his feet. Both Marylou and Nick assisted Chris in standing up. He was unsteady due to the anti-anxiety medicine flowing through his system. He whimpered pleadingly when he laid down on the medical table, anxious about what was to come.

"I'm just going to have you bring your knees up to your chest okay hun?" Doctor Kane came closer to Chris.
He let himself be guided onto his side and allowed Marylou to help position his knees up to his chest. He was now alone with his mom and Doctor Kane in the room. His three brothers and dad returning to the waiting room shortly after he was assisted onto the table. Chris couldn't help but notice Matt and Nick had looked teary eyed when they said goodbye and left.
"That's great sweetheart, you're doing so well," Doctor Kane voice pulled him out of his thoughts.
Marylou stood beside Chris, almost level with the table. She only had to look down slightly to meet his gaze. His blue eyes were glossy when they looked up into hers. Wetness pooled along his waterline, threatening to tip over and race down his cheeks. Marylou whispered soothingly to her son and brushed loose strands of hair from his forehead.
"Shhhh, it's okay, I'm here," her voice had Chris close his eyes, meditating on the way it calmed his nerves.
She watched his face relax, the tensity in his brows calmed and his breathing slowed. She took her finger and traced down the bridge of his nose to further decompress his anxiety. Chris breathed in deep, listening to his mom ushering sweet affirmations to him the same way she did when he was younger.
"You're okay, you're alright baby," Chris heard from Marylou. It was a peaceful few moments, just the two of them.
"Chris, sweetie, my hand might feel a bit cold, I'm just lifting up your shirt okay?" Doctor Kane's statement didn't immediately register for him.
