Together, they sat on the snow, watching as the Aurora Borealis filled the sky, Helianthus overflowed with happiness, excitement, and every positive feeling he had, he felt like he took hold of the north star, impossible to get, yet he proved that anything is possible.
"Tell me Helian, why do you like me? is what you say truly what you believe? that I am beautiful?"
"Yes, the most beautiful in my eyes, my most embraced flower, that is you"
"You compare me to a flower?"
"Well, I do believe that a flower that grows in the winter, is the most special of all, your beauty surpasses that of every flower in spring combined, you belong to a cold and dark season as you describe, but yet you still managed to shine, here, hold my hand". He opened his palm infront of Khione, while Khione placed his hand on his. A glow emitted at the gap of their fingers, and as they opened it, a bright, red flower, with its petals shining like a ruby gem, revealed itself at Helian's palm.
"This, shall be our symbol of love, may the next generation of gods see this and remember that two gods came to love each other"
"No, Helian... I cannot bare to think our end of existence..."
"Do not fret, my flower, I will fade with you" Helian embraced Khione in his arms, slowly falling into slumber together. They thought this was the start of their happiest days, but they never expected, that this was going to be the end.
"Wake up, my child, open your eyes", Helianthus was awakened by an echoing voice, whispering in his ear. He opened his eyes, to witness Khione now gone by his side, only nothing but darkness in his view.
"Where am I, what have you done with my Khione?!"
"Do not worry, Snow is safe, but not for long"
"Stop saying nonsense! where is my flower?!"
"Aren't you a being a little disrespectful to your creator?!"
"What do you mean?..."
"Before you is the Ruler of Seasons, with my abilities I put you all in this world, to serve only... your one and only purpose, and that is, to follow the cycle". Helianthus was not convinced by his words, only further throwing enraged words.
"oh Sunflower... what happened to you? you were once my most, embraced creation, the liveliest season, much brighter than the blazing summer, but now... you disappoint me. You have gone... no... you have changed way too far, I never knew your perspective regarding change has turned you into what you are now, standing in front of me, carrying a sin, not to be easily ignored"
"How is loving a sin?..."
"All because of that love... you disrupted the cycle, crossed the border, and forced change into the god of consistency, It is like forcing a spring flower to grow in the cold"
"But flowers do grow in-!"
"Silence! you shall not argue with me any longer, because you and Snow, will receive a punishment"
"No, no! please! just spare Khione! punish me instead!"
"A sinner cannot be spared, both you and Snow brought chaos to the cycle"
"Please... I'm begging you..." The Ruler suddenly went silent, seemingly thinking about Helianthus' request.
"I have decided... God of Spring, I am taking away your role as the bringer of Spring, from now on, spring will cycle all on its own, without the need of a god, whilst for the God of Winter... he is greatly forbidden to leave or go not until his time is over, so he must go back to his usual cycle routine"
"Thank you creator! truly thank you!"
"Now if you're ready, I shall erase you from existence" Helianthus' happiness is replaced by disappointment and confusion.
"Can I not say goodbye to Khione first?..." The Ruler clicked his tongue, annoyed by the another request.
"Then so be it, you have until the winter ends, and after that, you shan't do anything, but to accept your fate"
"Thank you, I shall say my proper goodbye to him"
"I hope you spend your final days, with no regrets."
