The City

I had gotten off the plane and i'm back at the place I was born. I'm Shuichi Saihara the Ultimate Detective my uncle gave me a new case as a test; a test I wasn't ready to take. I moved away when I was 14. It's September 8th today I just turned 19 yesterday fun right? I got my bags ready to stay here for a few years. I grabbed my phone and called my friend who would be my ride. The only friend I have in this city.

*ring ring*
*answer*

"Hey it's Shui-"

"HEY SHUICHI!!! I'M OUSIDE IN THE WHITE JEEP ILL WAVE OUT THE WINDOW WHEN I SEE YOU HURRY I MISS YOU!"

"Ok I'll see you in a sec-"

*hangup*

Well ok that was a fast call. I made my way outside and I easily found my transport, yelling, head and hands out the window, screaming my name.

"HEY SAIHARA OVER HERE!!!"

I pulled my hat down and waved at her. I put my bags in the back and sat up front.

"It's so nice seeing you!!! it's been years am I right? I like the hat very Saihara of you. So you're like the ultimate detective? that's crazy but I could see it from a mile away haha it makes sense. You are like so coolll!"

"Seriously Kaede? Call me Shuichi we've been over this before. Plus you're way cooler than me miss Ultimate Pianist you've been good at the piano since we've met if anything I bet you're so much better now."

"Yeah but you easily solved a case and now you've taken on this huge case and it's only the second one that's insane Saihara!"

"You won trophies as a kid. I could say the same for you Akamatsu."

"Oh yeah sorry that is weird I see what you mean Shuichi haha"

I opened case file for the first time so I can get an idea of what i'm getting myself into. He looks like a clown? Jester? Not sure but I wouldn't be able to finish analyzing as Kaede cut me off.

"Hey i've seen him before. As a side job me and my best friend work at the cafe and i've seen him run past a couple times and seconds later the cops it's honestly a disturbance to the customers it's a shame really but you should visit some time Shuichi I tend to play the piano!"

"I'll definitely go later Kaede thank you"

She parked her Jeep in her drive way and she kindly helped me with my bags.

"Oh by the way Shuichi I like keeping the house clean and shoes bring in dirt so could you please take them off at the front door."

"Of course Kaede" I saw another pair as I was taking off mine. Kaede noticed and motioned me to my room

"I forgot to mention but my boyfriend and I recently moved in together so you'll see him around he knows you'll be staying here you can meet him at dinner tonight! Don't worry about helping out focus on that big case of yours ok? Oh and his "brother" which is best friend but they call each other brothers tends to visit often for Rantaro so don't mind him."

"Ok Kaede thank you and him for allowing me to stay here for the time being. I can unpack my bags by myself thanks for helping me carry them here."

"Duh Shuichi don't gotta ask me twice!"

With that she left and so I put up everything I had and set my laptop onto the desk along with the files. With the time I have i'm going to study this thief and try and finish this as soon as possible.
