Late Night Walk

It's about 1:00 am and I can't sleep. I grabbed my headphones and left the house. I put on music to calm my mind. I was listening to Solas while I was making my way to the empty park. It's kind of eery but thats ok. I sat on the swings and watched above unable to see the stars due to the city lights. Kokichi. He's like my star. Why am I even thinking of him? I closed my eyes listening to the music. I'm dancing with him in an empty ballroom. I'm smiling looking at him softly as he giggles about it. How much I long for you Kokichi. We sway back and forth as he follows my movement. These feelings make me very happy but it's not joy i'm feeling. I hope I can dance with him in person one day. I don't think I wanna solve the case. The longer I take.. the longer I stay right? I'm in no rush anymore.

"What's wrong with you Detective?" - ???

Just like that the perfect dance was gone and my thoughts were interrupted. I take out the headphones and look over to see the thief sitting on the swing right beside me.

"What're you doing here stalker? What could you steal at a park? Really you've fallen off with zero crimes recently. You just bother me at this point." - Shuichi

"Well I did come to steal. I want to steal your heart Detective." - Thief

"My heart?? *I blush and pull down my hat* sorry, but if thats really what you're after.. then you're out of luck. It's already been taken." - Shuichi

"Taken? Who'd want to date somebody like you?!" - Thief

"We actually aren't together.." - Shuichi

"What a shame not like this person will even like you back look at you Detective." - Thief

"He likes another.. so I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't like me back you know"
I turn to look at the thief and smile at him.

"What's up with you? Earlier you were trying to fight me and now you'd rather sit and talk." - Thief

"It's too late to be dealing with you right now. I'm going to head back." - Shuichi

"Wait Detective. I wonder who is it you love?" - Kokichi

"Yeah like im telling you. You'd just hold them for ransom." - Shuichi

"Just leave you dumb detective before I kidnap you." - Thief

He seemed pretty annoyed maybe because I didn't put up a fight? I wonder what he would do if he found out the reason I was avoiding finding out his identity is because I wanna stay longer. I got up from the swing and walked away while Waltz of the Flowers played in my ears. I wonder if Kokichi is still awake. Should I check? As I was walking I saw somebody standing in-front of me. Kokichi?

"Shuichi I found you! I saw that your room was open and you were nowhere to be found so I got curious and decided to go out looking for you." - Kokichi

"That's nice Kokichi why are you still awake?"- Shuichi

"Well Shuichi I guess it's just nightmares they're too scary." - Kokichi

"If that's the case why'd you come wondering around at night on your own? You wouldn't have been guaranteed to find me here." - Shuichi

"Yeahh but I got lucky because here you are!" - Kokichi

Just the sight of him makes me blush. I pull my hat down to cover my red cheeks. Then I felt Kokichi grab my hat and take it off. I looked over and saw him wearing it.

"Trust remember? No more hiding Shuichi Saihara. Who are you when you don't have the Ultimate Detective Title?" - Kokichi

"Kokichi what about you? I'm opening myself up to you, but you can't do that with me why?" - Shuichi

"What're you talking about Shuichi?" - Kokichi

His smile started to seem uneasy like he knew he was caught. I walked up closer to him and took the hat off his head.

"Please Kokichi.. You can't make me take off the "mask" just for you to wear it." - Shuichi

"Shuichi I'm scared. What if all i'm doing is for nothing and it's just all pointless and then everybody will realize how useless I truly am?" - Kokichi

"Whatever it is that you're doing. I'm sure it isn't pointless. You're anything but useless." - Shuichi

I saw that tears were begging to be let out of his eyes. I then gave Kokichi a hug hoping this is what he would need. He hugged back and I felt my chest getting wet from his tears. That made me hold him closer. I never wanted to let go. I liked this. What happens if I confess..?
