Travis

"Travis."

"Yeah, I fucking know Jason." I grumbled, opening my eyes to look at him. "What the fuck do you want me to do? We've been here six days, and I don't think complaining about it is going to help."

My brother huffed where he sat against the opposite wall, cuffed just like I was. I rolled my eyes, leaning my head back. The only thing that had gotten me through the last few days was thinking about my family, my two girls with so much hope waiting for me at home. I couldn't even imagine how Ali would be feeling right now, not knowing if I was coming home. If only there was some way I could reach out to her.

As we sat there in silence, there was a loud bang from outside the door. Jason and I both looked up, exchanging a quick glance before we turned for the door. There was another bang, a shout, and then it burst open. A woman stood in the doorway, splattered with blood, a gun swinging from her hand.

"Hey." Ali smiled in at us. "Somebody call for a rescue?"

"You're shitting me." I stared at her. "How long have you been thinking about that line?"

"About four hours." She giggled, glancing over her shoulder before ducking inside and closing the door behind her.

Ali rushed over, pointing the gun at my cuffs. I shifted to the side, turning my face away as I heard a bang and a splintering of metal. The cuffs fell away and then Ali was collapsing into my arms, kissing me, hugging me. I plunged my hands into her hair and tugged her close, the sweet smell and taste of my wife enveloping me. She smiled as she kissed me, and god, it felt so good to have her back in my arms.

"Uh, hello?" Jason called out. "Can you two do that later?"

"Right, sorry." Ali cleared her throat, getting to her feet. She grabbed the gun and rushed over to free Jason as I got up, rubbing at my sore wrists.

"Baby doll how'd you find us?" I asked as she helped Jason up.

"Umm." Ali flushed. "Austin came to see me. And it's okay!" She quickly said as my jaw clenched. "I told him he's a dead man walking, but I figured I needed his help to get him here. So." She gestured around us. "Should we get the hell out of here."

"God I love you." I reached out and touched her cheek. "You're so fucking amazing."

"I know." She winked at me. "Now come on, let's go."

Ali led me out of the room with Jason just behind us. Austin was waiting for us and we exchanged a cold look before he motioned down a hallway to a door, pressing a finger to his lips. We all nodded, moving as silently as we could down to the door. Ali pushed Austin out of the way, holding her gun close to the door as she cracked it open. There was a shout and she took a shot, causing someone to groan. I heard a crash like someone had fallen over, and then Ali was beckoning us forwards.

"Where the hell are we?" I whispered to her, since Jason and I had been drugged when we'd been moved.

"Just a shitty abandoned building outside the city." Ali murmured as we passed through the small room with a guy slumped against the wall, dead. "I left one guy alive, sent him to Vito, so hopefully he'll be here and I can put a fucking bullet in his brain." The look on her face was determined, and honestly, it kind of scared me a little. She was in her protective mode. Pausing by the next door, Ali turned to us. "Okay, so..."

The door burst open and Ali squeaked as she was grabbed, slammed up against the wall. A few men poured into the room with Vito right behind them, hands in his pockets as he looked around at us. I lunged forwards, trying to get to Ali, but Vito lifted a gun and pointed it at her, making me pause. One of the two men holding Ali snatched the gun out of her hand, shoving it up underneath her jaw. She glared at him, huffing out angry breaths from where she was pinned against the wall.
