The elevator opened to see Peter was waiting for me. He had a lopsided grin as I hobbled out of the elevator. He happily lent me a shoulder so I can reach my appointment. The doctor examined my belly to make sure there is no infection. And he changed the dressing and gave me a few antibiotics. I asked for a salve. While Peter gave a light chuckle the doctor gave me one with a look of skepticism. Peter happily carried me out of the room and we reached the car. He drove me to the docks where I observed a deal between him and the curator. A person who finds rare antiquities and people who have disappeared out reach of the high table.
Afterwards Peter and I had dinner at a halal restaurant a few blocks away. We ate the grill special and some soup. We were discussing the next few days when I got a call from Roscoe. She was with someone from Bakersfield. The two were arguing about something. Roscoe wondered when I will pay her a visit. I told her that I will see her in a few weeks. She told me that she hopes that I can solve a problem for her. I asked if her crazy ex had showed up. She said he is as far away as possible. The situation is because of a biker gang. She suspects that they are involved human trafficking. I told her that I will look into it. I quickly hung up and switched off my phone. Peter smiled, "Why did you turn it off?" I smiled, "I like the moment we are having right so I am in no mood for interruptions." His smiled brightened. He dropped me off and promised to meet me for lunch.
What's going on? I woke up and walked to the kitchen. I heard a knock and checked who it was. It was Emmett. I opened the door and he arrested me. I was escorted to the FBI headquarters. Where they processed me. I asked for a lawyer and was denied. Soon after they asked me to make a choice. Work for them or go to jail. I smiled, "So this is what going on? I want my lawyer here and I want to see this bogus reason you brought me here or I rather go to jail. I know my rights." They tried to block me and I made it clear if I choose to work for them. The moment I step out of here I will make them lose their badge. Are they willing to take the risk? They started to sweat and I smiled.
I demanded my lawyer or I am walking out of here. I have scheduled an appointment with my doctor and I will not be late. I got up and asked again one last time. I am not afraid so I started to walk. Emmett blocked me and decided that I need to clear the air so he escorted me to the evidence room and showed me a video. I was talking to someone on their watch list. I laughed, "I was lost and asked for direction and I can prove it"I showed him the recording from my purse and the FBI had no choice but to let me go. I made it clear I am calling everyone I know and these guys are in big trouble. They looked less afraid till they saw their boss walk in. He apologized for the stupidity and asked that this be kept under wraps and they won't harass me again. I told him that I have a Ph.D. on how the FBI works. They will look for an excuse to cuff and control me. So in retaliation I am going to destroy them the first chance I get. So if they value their job they better delete this nonsense from my record and never show their faces again. I will look the other way as a show of good faith. He did just that I walked out with a case of temporary amnesia.
I called the secret society I am working for about the FBI arresting me and they said this problem will be yesterday's news. I just had to help another assassin. I made it clear that I am ready to help them anyway possible. This amused the woman on the phone. A car arrived to escort me to the near airstrip. A woman was waiting for me by a small plane. She had short hair and was wearing a suit. She had tattoos visible on her back on her hand. She looked stoic but also very bored at the same time. We hopped on the plane and I was to help find a guy involved in human trafficking. He was a truck driver that was supposed to deliver a girl that was rescued from the traffickers but it is possible that he was killed or that he is in league with them. The problem was that no one can find him or her. The girl in question is related to the one of the people sitting on the high table.
