She's supposed to drop his son on his father's house and go home, she didn't intend to stay- it's awkward but Min-joo wanted to show her his toys that him and his father recently got and that's why Byul stayed.
When Min-joo got busy opening a box of lego from his father's friend, she moved towards the kitchen to get something to drink. She didn't notice that Jin had followed her.
"I have plans on asking and having a trip with Min-joo at the city. I promise that we'll be careful and discreet."
Byul drank the glass of water before looking at Jin that's now standing in-front of her.
"As long as it's your day, jin, yeah no problem. I know you'll take care of him." She said letting out a small smile.
Jin couldn't take his eyes off of byul. She's beautiful. Her soft features were highlighted over the years. She looks innocent. Fragile- even his nose and eyes are a bit red and kind of puffy. She has been crying.
He loves byul with all his being.
That was his mistake- thinking that a love so young could end well.
"Did.. did jaejoong saw Min-joo growing up?" He asked clearing his throat.
Byul pursed her lips. She didn't want to hear his name.
"Y-yeah. He was there when Min-joo's growing up.." she said showing a weak smile.
And that hurted Jin. Min-joo's his world. Remembering all of it- how he missed a lot of his child's milestone is a hard punch on his heart.
"I'm sorry, i-i'm sorry for keeping him from you.." byul lowered down her head. Breaking down. "It's my fault. I know. I thought i was protecting you not knowing that it will cause you a - - a much bigger pain." She said, tears streaming down on her face.
Byul out down the glass of water on the counter to wipe her tears. Her shoulder was shaking. She looks really stressed and exhausted.
"I want a complete family for Min-joo. Maybe i should go for it.. maybe that would be the best." Byul looked up to see Jin's eyes.
"A complete family for our son, Jin.. i-"
"But i don't want you to force it. If you're confused with what you feel as of this moment. Don't force yourself. Take all the time you need." Jin mentioned with a lot of understanding.
Byul covered his face and bursted more tears.
"Let's fix it for Min-joo. If i am on vacation or if i have extra time from work. 3 days would be for me and then 3 days for you. 1 would be a day together. We'll be taking turns."
"Anything about him, let's compromise. With his studies, with him growing up, disciplining him. On what you think is right for him, say it to me so that i can do it too. Let's talk even if it's just a few minutes, if we're going to drop him off each houses. So we're aware how min-joo is with one another."
Jin lets out a small smile after speaking. Trying so hard for his voice not to shake.
"We'll co-parent." Jin assured her.
"There might be a time that Min-joo will question it or might get hurt or confused but if we love him right and never let him down. He'll eventually understand. Maybe not now, he'll understand especially we love him both ways. Let's promise each other to love him unconditionally." He mentioned sincerely and bit the inside of his cheek. He enveloped Byul's body with both his arms. Caressing her back while trying to hush her.
"We'll keep trying." He said in almost a whisper.
They got busy and busy and did the promise on taking turns on being with their son.
