Utahime sat in her apartment, her phone buzzing intermittently with missed calls and unread messages from Gojo. Each notification added to the weight of guilt she carried since she last saw him. She knew she needed to tell him about the baby, but every time she picked up the phone to call, doubts and fears held her back.
Meanwhile, Shoko had been supportive, respecting Utahime's decision to handle things her own way. She didn't press for details about whether Utahime had spoken to Gojo yet, and Utahime was grateful for her understanding. But inside, the guilt gnawed at her. She couldn't shake the feeling that she was betraying Gojo's trust by keeping such a significant secret.
One sunny morning, Utahime found herself sitting in a clinic, waiting for her first prenatal appointment. Shoko had offered to accompany her, but Utahime insisted on going alone. She didn't want Shoko to know that she hadn't told Gojo yet. As she sat in the waiting room, nervously fidgeting with her phone, she tried to push away thoughts of how Gojo might react when he eventually found out.
After what felt like an eternity, Utahime finished her appointment and left the clinic. She was lost in thought as she walked towards the subway station, trying to figure out how to navigate the mess she found herself in. Little did she know, someone was watching her every move.
As Utahime exited the hospital, Gojo suddenly appeared before her, blocking her path with his usual confident smile. "Hey, Utahime!" he greeted, his voice laced with concern. "Is everything okay? You left the hospital so abruptly, I was worried something might have happened."
Utahime froze, caught off guard by his sudden appearance. She looked into his eyes, seeing genuine worry mixed with confusion. "Gojo... I..." she started, but the words caught in her throat. She couldn't bring herself to tell him the truth, not here, not now.
Gojo's brow furrowed slightly, noticing her hesitation. "Did I do something to offend you lately?" he asked softly, his concern deepening.
Utahime shook her head, feeling tears welling up in her eyes. "No, it's not that," she whispered, her voice barely audible.
"Then what is it?" Gojo pressed gently, stepping closer to her. "Utahime, you can tell me anything."
Utahime took a deep breath, trying to steady herself. She wiped away a tear that escaped down her cheek. "I... I just need some time," she managed to say, her voice trembling. "I... I'm sorry, Gojo."
Gojo's expression softened, his concern shifting to understanding tinged with a hint of hurt. "Okay," he said quietly, nodding. "Take all the time you need. But please, Utahime, if something is wrong, don't shut me out."
Utahime nodded weakly, unable to meet his gaze any longer. She turned away, walking towards the subway entrance, leaving Gojo standing there, watching her retreating figure with a mixture of confusion and worry.
Gojo's POV
Gojo Satoru leaned against the wall of his office, staring at his phone screen filled with unanswered texts to Utahime. It had been weeks since he last heard from her, and every attempt to reach out had been met with silence. His usual cocky grin was replaced with a furrowed brow, his mind racing through possible reasons for her sudden avoidance.
