Gojo had heard from Shoko that Utahime was in Tokyo on a mission. He had already decided that he wouldn't call or text her anymore, giving her the time she asked for, but he was still worried. Determined to check up on her without intruding, he decided to observe her mission from a distance.
Utahime was leading two other sorcerers in exorcising a particularly dangerous semi-grade one curse. Despite looking a bit exhausted, she was performing admirably, her movements precise and powerful. Gojo watched with a mix of admiration and concern, noting her skill and determination.
As the battle reached its peak, Utahime faced the curse head-on. She unleashed a series of powerful attacks, her grace and strength captivating everyone, including her support team. One of the sorcerers blushed, impressed by her prowess.
With a final, elegant strike, Utahime exorcised the curse spirit. Her team looked at her in awe, their respect and admiration evident. However, the strain of the battle took its toll. As the curse disintegrated, Utahime's body gave out. She swayed, her vision blurring, and suddenly fainted, falling into the arms of one of her team members.
Gojo was beside them almost instantly, his heart pounding with a mix of concern and exasperation. He scooped Utahime up in his arms, shaking his head slightly. "Always pushing yourself too hard, huh?" he muttered, his voice light but laced with underlying worry. Without hesitation, he teleported to Shoko, who was with Nanami discussing something at the morgue.
"Shoko! Nanami! Got a fainting damsel here," Gojo announced, his usual playful tone present but softer.
Shoko immediately began examining her, her expression serious but not panicked. Nanami looked on, his brow furrowed in concern.
"She's dehydrated and exhausted," Shoko said after a moment. "Nothing too serious, but she needs rest."
As Utahime slowly regained consciousness, she found herself in the infirmary, surrounded by familiar faces. Gojo was right beside her, his eyes filled with a mix of relief and curiosity.
"Hime," Gojo said softly, a hint of his usual teasing tone in his voice. "You really know how to make an entrance, don't you?"
Utahime blinked, her vision clearing as she realized where she was. "Gojo......what happened?
"You fainted after the mission," Gojo replied, his tone light but with an edge of concern. "You need to take better care of yourself."
Utahime sighed, feeling a wave of emotion. "I know, it's just... there's been a lot on my mind."
Gojo's expression softened as he looked at her. "Like what? What's going on, Hime?"
Before she could respond, Shoko interjected. "Utahime, you need to rest. We'll talk later."
Utahime nodded weakly, feeling the exhaustion pulling her back into sleep. As she drifted off, she heard Gojo's voice, softer than usual. "We'll be here when you wake up. Get some rest."
Hours later, Utahime woke again, feeling slightly more refreshed. She saw Gojo and Nanami sitting nearby, engaged in a quiet conversation. Shoko was checking some medical supplies.
"Gojo," she called out, her voice still weak.
He was at her side in an instant. "Feeling better?"
Utahime nodded, taking a deep breath. "There's something I need to tell you."
Gojo leaned in, his usual playful demeanor replaced with genuine concern. "What is it?"
Utahime hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Gojo... I'm pregnant."
The room went silent. Gojo's eyes widened in surprise, but he quickly regained his composure. "Pregnant?" he repeated, his voice calm.
"Yes," Utahime said, her voice trembling slightly. "I didn't know how to tell you. I was scared of what the higher-ups would do if they found out."
Gojo took her hand, his grip gentle but firm. "You don't have to be scared. We'll figure this out together."
Nanami, who had been quietly observing, stepped forward. "If you need anything, we're here for you, Utahime."
Shoko nodded in agreement. "We'll support you in any way we can."
Utahime felt a wave of relief wash over her. Despite the challenges ahead, she knew she wasn't alone. With Gojo, Shoko, and Nanami by her side, she felt a renewed sense of strength and determination to face whatever came next.
