SOPH'S POV

Tonight was amazing.

After Pedri and i did it. We drove around till we ended up on the beach.

We held hands, kissed, talked.

It felt like we were a real couple.

By the time i looked at my phone it was 2am.

"Pedri we should head home, its late" i say looking at him.

We were sitting on the sand, listening to the waves crash down, feeling the breeze on our face.

"If we leave, then that means today is over... and i wont see you again" he says with a soft voice

He's right, after today i don't ill ever seem him again unless he comes back to California or i visit Tenerife.

"All good things must come to an end" i say chuckling

"Do you believe in fate?" he says ignoring my comment.

" I don't know to be honest.."

" If its meant to be, we will find each other again" he says with a reassuring smile.

I look at him and see his beautiful smile.

"I don't think there will be anyone that will make me feel the way you have in just a short amount of time" i say while playing with his hands.

" I don't think there will ever be anyone but you" he says while kissing my forehead

" why don't we make a promise" i say while looking at him with a smile on my face.

"ok, what promise" he says raising an eyebrow

" Lets focus on our careers, but lets not forget each other. In volleyball when we score we don't usually have a celebration after but for nationals I'm going to change my number. why don't we both have the same number. As long as we have the same number, it will mean we are still connected and we still are waiting for each other till our time is right, till we find each other again." i say with a hopeful smile

Pedri laughs at me.

"Soph, my love. My season already started, i dont think i can change my number " he say

"But i can change mine" i say

" Change yours and when i get a chance to wear a different number ill wear yours as well, but for now lets do my number." he says

"ok perfect. whats your number" i say

"8" he says with a smile

" you know they say that 8 is the only number that doesn't end, and it means forever" i say with a smile

"well, i guess you and i are forever" he says while leaning in to kiss me.

After a while, we ended up heading home. I took him to his house and as he got off he gave me a hug.

"I'll never forget you Soph" he said one last time till he got off the car and made his way inside.

TWO WEEKS LATER

PEDRI'S POV

Its been two weeks since i last saw Soph.

We text here and there but with her moving and preparing for nationals and actually playing has been hard for us to talk as often as wed like.

Our tour ended and we were heading back to Barcelona.

We have one week to relax before training starts so I'm going to go home for a bit and see my family. The rest of the team is going to do the same.
