Wren and Mei remained still as the large Kaiju kept its eyes on Mei. Mei looked with large unblinking eyes, frozen with fear. The Kaiju moved forward a little, its mouth opening a bit and revealing two rows of teeth.

Mei slowly took a step back as the Kaiju began to let out a low growl. It was like some kind of large Turtle Kaiju. Large spines along its front and back legs, as well as the rows of spikes of its back, some of them partially covered in moss. Its tail moved from left to right, lightly whipping against trees, though still enough force to deeply damage the trees.

Mei took another step back, only for her foot to land wrong, causing her to stumble back. The sudden movements seemed to startle the Kaiju as it took several steps back as well. It swung its tail at Mei, but because she fell back, she only felt the wind of the swing, barely missing her face by several inches.

Wren quickly came to Mei's side as the Kaiju raised its head in the air, letting out a loud high pitched roar. Forcing both Wren and Mei to cover their ears.

"There it is." A man said. Wren and Mei looked up to see a man with three others, all carrying rifles, "Get down, both of you!" Another said as they all pointed their rifles at it. Doing as told, Wren pulled Mei to the ground, shielding her with his body.

The men fired their guns at the Kaiju, however they appeared to have no effect on the Kaiju. Only seeming to irritate the Kaiju as it thrashed about, forcing Wren to grab Mei and take her along with him out of the area and into safety. As he did this, Mei kept her eyes on the Kaiju, seeing it moving oddly as the hunters fired at it.

Wren brought Mei behind several trees, taking cover from the attack. When the firing and roaring stopped, Wren and Mei looked back, only to see the Kaiju was now gone.

"Mei, you alright?" Mei looked at Wren before looking over at herself, "Yeah, yeah I think so."

"You two, what the hell are you doing all the way out here?" A hunter asked as he walked towards the two, "You realize it's dangerous to come wandering into the forests, right?"

"We were actually out here to try and find something like that." Wren answered, "I heard some people talk about a creature around these parts yesterday and wanted to confirm my suspicions. This is Mei, she's my... my colleague in my research and investigation." Wren then noticed the men were all wearing the same orange and black hats and matching vests.

"I don't suppose you all have some camp around here, do you?"

"Can you take us to it? It'd be a big help if you can."

The lead of them turned to face the others, "It would be best if we did take them." He said, "As it is, we need to resupply anyway." Agreeing to what Wren asked, the men decided to take along the two back to the camp.

The place they were brought to was the Minamifuji Country Club. There, multiple people seemed to be preparing for something, many even wearing matching hunting attire.

Mei sat alone as she watched everyone prepare, eventually Wren came by, passing her a bottle of water before sitting beside her. He opened his own bottled water, "You seem quiet, something up or was that experience with the Kaiju too close for comfort?" Mei looked at her water before opening it and taking a drink from it, "Yeah. I was expecting us to come across something, but I didn't think it would be like that."

"Seems to me everyone here is preparing to hunt and kill this Kaiju. I just hope they're prepared for the Kaiju." Wren started, "Though I just hope they'll be using bigger guns." Mei looked at Wren before questioning what he meant by that.

"When those hunters were shooting at it, I noticed the bullets didn't do very much against it. They all just bounced right off its body."

"I don't know, maybe they were only hitting its shell and that's what caused the bullets to bounce off the body, maybe it's the whole body, I just know simple rifles might not be enough against this Kaiju."
